“A man who tirelessly worked for his family, for his Co-Optional co-hosts, for his passion for Starcraft, for 60 FPS. A man who sometimes spoke and wrote brusquely, and locked away his Twitter account to try to better himself.”

Yes, he was a man, and he didn’t deserve to die.

None of the above is relevant to

And I don’t understand why a person’s death justifies elevating them to sainthood.

I’m not happy he’s dead, but he doesn’t deserve to have praise heaped upon him for things he did in life that were bad.

Self-awareness AND humility, I should have said, though the latter tends to follow the former. I don’t personally know anyone who is capable of serious introspection yet who is not willing to admit when they’re wrong.

They could easily add some kind of shared credit for kills that involve an overwhelming amount of damage by one player and a scratch-damage killing blow from another. Why is everyone saying that because a stupid system exists in other games that it shouldn’t ever be fixed or mitigated in this one in any way?

I don’t play Overwatch either, but the difference is obvious: in other FFA DM games, there are no differences between players’ characters. Everyone spawns with the same standard loadout, and from then on everything the player can do depends on what they pick up on the map, with matches often revolving around battles

“If I disagree, I’m going to make my feelings known.”

It’s good that you were raised to do that. You know, without compromising on the natural human need to express yourself honestly just in order to spare the delicate feelings of others.

Seriously. That’s a good thing. So why are so intent to dissent with the author,

What is an article like this if not an attempt at “fighting

He sounded like he was very much aware of what he was saying to me.

“If you do, you will find someone who truly believed that there was a movement (a silent majority, he calls it) underneath that label that would improve disclosure in games journalism.”

In spite of virtually all evidence to the contrary which was available to him just as it was to everyone else.

“He was wrong, and his

That sounds pretty vindictive to me.

Communists in this country do?

No. No, they really, really fucking don’t.

Triggered.

Oh, God, no! He left out two letters and an apostrophe! It’s totally unreadable now!

Browser history? As in things read or otherwise consumed in private?

These are things the dude put out into the world.

I dunno. Some people do. Not this guy, but definitely some of them.

“while somewhat naively ignoring or at least downplaying the wider context.”

When things get pointed out to you repeatedly and you still choose to ignore them, it’s not naivete anymore.

GamerGate was not about calling out hypocrites and dirty dealers. Full fucking stop.

Yep, it’s definitely an incredibly easy decision now.

Between this and CTE, I really don’t see any reason to ever watch football again.

I hope this guy dies soon.

I’ll laugh and laugh.
