Same, I really hope the story DLC is really meaty or I’m not going to bother. Most of the DLC stuff so far has been stuff that might not even lure me back in even if it were free.

General consensus (even in r/Xenoblade_Chronicles): not worth it without the Story DLC. Waiting for that to drop myself before I buy it.

Heads up, you can’t continue your playthrough after beating the final boss, so be sure you’ve done all the exploring you want to first.

You’re at the very end! Stock up on antidote and push through!

I lived in Korea during a flare-up over Dokdo/Takeshima Island, and half my students were writing “DOKDO BELONGS TO KOREA” across the tops of their papers for no apparent reason. It wasn’t quite the nightmare you’re describing, but I did get texts from friends saying “Avoid the Japanese Embassy, the protesters are

Yep, for single player games I try to resist the hype. Online I’m swayed a bit easier if my friends all pick up the game.

With just a few exceptions I’ve had a similar rule for myself for a long time. I don’t see much reason to pay $60 for a game plus $30+ for the DLC pass when more often than not a complete edition will be released for $50 or less.

It’s a bit artificial but then again it might benefit consumers a bit. An XbOne release with timed exclusive means first time buyers will need to buy all those DLC separately. If it’s delayed a year for Playstation 4 owners, they get to buy the game of the year edition with all the DLC.

Sports games always seem like they get a pass in these conversations, probably because they’re comparatively distinct communities. I’m not a huge gamer, but I play both Madden (Ultimate Team, or MUT) and Destiny 2 casually, and the response to these kinds of things within each online community is totally different.

Yeah, I agree. Like I don’t dislike the levels, but I get kinda bored of them after just one or two and want to go play more multiplayer. A few weeks ago my power was out and so I tried playing the campaign and I got bored even though I had very little else to do. But yeah, the smaller levels might actually help.

Hah, yep. That’s perfect.

Okay, let’s nitpick further: you and I both know very well that the majority of the anger about the woman in the game is NOT because she’s infantry; it’s that she’s a prominent character in the game in a space where sexists could previously have “legitimate” arguments to not have to see prominent female characters and

Oskar actually put this gift in his Twitter thread that is linked above. Shows how perfect answer it is haha.

What a time to be alive.

This is pretty much my same plan, but I haven’t started Two Souls yet due to cleaning up a thing or two on GoW. I’m definitely going to check out Two Souls since it’s free and waiting to be played, but the reviews for Detroit put it in the ‘maybe check out this game later’ queue. It’s a visually stunning looking game,

“Also, it’s video games. Get back to me when it’s about something that’s actually important.”

You’re overreacting.

Do you still have to buy things with different tokens on every.damn.planet because I’m not coming back until they fix that nonsense.

On that note, anyone still playing D1? Because I’ve been seriously thinking about playing it again. I remember the it joke right after D2 launched was that the end game of D2 was going

I feel like the best way to counter Palpatine is straight up coordination. Which is hard to get. Did you see the reddit post about EA supposedly wanting to drop the game? Hope that doesn’t happen.

That actually sort of makes me want to fire up the game again. I get what they were doing with the menus and it was cool in its own way but it just wasn’t pleasing to look at for more than a couple minutes.
