Re: the Japanese switches above with the Splatoon joycons...those haven’t been out that long, have they? Disconcerting, because Nintendo has more hits than misses when it comes to build quality.

That’s a pretty interesting observation. I wasn’t able to articulate what was getting to me about Lawbreakers, but I only needed about 3 minutes into the beta to know that I would never be applying myself to this game down the road. Immediate uninstall. I appreciate all the time and effort they put into building the…
Looking forward to the Pea Soup vs. Creamed Corn splatfest.
I agree. When you’re in sync with the team, it’s like watching a really tight band improvising onstage and communicating through their instruments. It’s a great feeling! I’ve lost more than I’ve won for sure, but yeah, when it works it’s really something else.
Neat idea. If they see a red bubble with a “-500p” on the match results screen, they might start to think about a bit more. Could work!
Great article! In Splatoon 2, I feel I’m often a weaker link than I’d like to admit, but I’m trying. On another note, it’s hard figuring out how to corral teammates who are still prioritizing kill-streaks. Whenever a new game starts and it’s me (splattershot) and 3 snipers, I know I’m in a bit of trouble.
Got it! I just played the opening level (twice) with Beck, can already tell that this purchase goes in the ‘win’ column
PS4 vs XBO? Do you not know what you’ve just unleashed??? I’m gonna bring it back down a bit with a Tidus vs Cloud / Cher vs The Kardashians double-billing
Glad you’re willing to take the hits for us. If copyright protection wasn’t a thing, what would you want to see for a spatfest? Keaton vs. Bale? Alien vs. Predator? Tastes Great vs. Less Filling? Triss vs. Yennifer (vs. Kiera)? Microwaved vs. Flame-Broiled? To Be vs. Not to Be?
Can you replay levels after tweaking/customizing, or does the game definitely end with no going back for replays?
Encouraging! I’ve got a few bucks burning a hole in my eShop account, sounds like it’ll be money well-spent!
I keep looking at Mighty Gunvolt Burst every time I go to the eShop. Worth it, you say?
Yeah, I started experiencing brain disconnect, like my brain couldn’t get the signal down to my left arm to make it stop flailing. I’ll just chain it down until I can successfully reprogram myself ;)
Good tip. I played a few rounds, then went back to the pro-controller to compare. I got a bit mentally tired from constantly trying to manipulate both joy-cons on the fly while keeping them stable, will try your suggestion. I can definitely see how this can be a preferred method as long as you can get used to it.
I just tried with the joy-cons, and it’s pretty fun! I’m going to play a few campaign stages to retrain myself, but I’m going to stick with it for a while and see how it pans out. Thanks for the tips!
Ok, that’s definitely helpful. I’m rebuilding my muscle memory for pressing Y to re enter the camera; it’s getting there. Looking forward to trying it!
I actually played all of those! Had a lot of fun with the Wii CoD World at War, and the Metroid Prime re masters with Wii controls were great too. Also spent a lot of hours in Conduit multiplayer. With the Wii, I remember that the motion controls were pretty great when the developer knew what to do with them. Good to…
Patricia, a bit off topic, but have you been using the app at all? I haven’t really even considered trying to use it for voice-chat, but as a Nintendo hub it’s a neat concept, and the Splatoon features are pretty cool and fun to use (although I’d like active tool-tips for the clothing abilities as I don’t always…
I haven’t tried the joy-cons yet at all. Does it really work like that??? I remember replaying RE: 4 on the Wii with the remotes and it made it a totally different (more enjoyable) game. I’m going to have to check it out later!
