Lithium polymer battery. Not a solid state cell. Perhaps you’re confused about a mechanical disk drive versus a solid state drive?

Hey, so Apple says the Macbook Pro uses a “72.4-watt-hour lithium-polymer battery” which is not what we’re talking about here. They use a solid state disc drive, maybe that’s what you’re thinking about?
I feel like I need to go visit all the popular national parks before they just close them off to everyone.
He just got 303 million shares from Tesla, not “a $56 billion paycheck”. So yeah, you would assume that he cares if the stock price goes down.
The really weren’t “profiteering”. Think of how expensive it is to keep a glass palace auto dealership open. The building, the employees, the power bill, the phone bill, the IT staff, the water bill all has to be paid every month. And now instead of (just to pull numbers out of my ass) instead of being able to sell…
I think the economy is doing much better than people are admitting. Inflation is down, and those prices are here to stay. People are starting to go back to their normal buying habits post COVID. As people tighten their belts even more, I expect to see the R word stop popping up more and more.
Huge believer in PHEV tech. Started with a Prius C in 2013, then a Prius Prime in 21, and just replaced it with a Rav4 Prime. I bought my son a Chevy Volt as his first car and he loves it as well. For both of us we do most of our driving electric, but for the times we need to make a large trip we run in hybrid mode.…
Low inflation still means rising prices. Deflation isn’t a thing (practically, I am aware it exists as a word. Unicorn also exists as a word!)
Discounts are getting back to “normal”. Stuff that is sitting around is discounted, stuff that is hot is not. Same as it ever was. You can get a deal on a Gladiator, you are NOT getting one on a Sienna.
My friend had a 2nd gen volt that they still talk fondly about today. GM needs to bring it back and market it properly
PHEV life goes by the rule of ‘never stop charging’. I’ve got a Volvo V60 myself (15 kWh usable) that gets me about 40 miles on a charge, and needs about 16 hours to get up to a full charge. Most of the time I’m using about 30% of the battery for a round trip commute. Occasionally I might make a trip after work that…
two to three times a week I would go over my electric range in my Volt and being able to run on the gas engine was great.
I loved my 2019 Volt, it was the perfect car. 50 mpg, 59 miles to a charge. PHEV’s are truly the stepping stone into electrification. I’d love for a PHEV Tacoma or something. I just need 50 miles of range. Make it a series hybrid and it will be perfect
Read that again.
Or ride a bike.
The cap at 85% will actually likely reduce total travel time, since charging curves mean you are waiting longer to trickle charge those last kwhs vs’ continuing on and plugging in again at a lower SoC / much higher charging rate.
My dad had a Volt and loved it. He currently has a Bolt and loves that but while he would road trip the Volt to visit my bother 400 miles away he won’t in the Bolt. They take my step mom’s Equinox gas engine car.
I owned a Gen 1 & 2 Volt and now have a Ioniq 5. The Gen 2 fit me perfectly but was a bit too small for my tastes. I drive 43.5 miles to and from work every day. I’d usually get to work with about 6-8 miles left, fully charge, and get home with either 1 mile or would have run the generator for 3-4 miles. I only…
Toyota took the original 1997 Prius and evolved and improved upon it. The 1997 model sold like crap. The subsequent 2004 model was revolutionary. Toyota kept at it and continued to improve it.
I had a Gen 1 Volt and liked it so much, I traded it in for a lightly used Gen 2 Volt. They were the best deals on the used market for a long time. It's the best car I've ever owned and still have it to this day
