100% this. As a longtime EV owner, I’ve been screaming from the rafters that EVs will never proliferate into dense urban areas (where arguably they are needed most and make the most sense) until we can electrify the public parking options. Fast chargers are not a solution to the problem, they are merely a convenience

Cost...It is literally that simple. FHEVs generally come at a premium of $2-3K and the math often doesn’t work. Take a Rav4 Hybrid, it costs about $3k more upfront and will net you maybe 9MPG more in mixed driving. With 15k miles a year, you will save about 100 gallons. At $4/gallon, you save $400/year. Trading in our ‘22 Bolt EV on a ‘23 Bolt EUV at CarMax today. Wife wants heated seats, I want SuperCruise and #bluecar.

Been shopping for pickup trucks lately? This is the luxury model and ya that’s kind of what they go for. Given the cost of operation, the electric truck is still way the fuck cheaper than the $80k ICE truck at the 200,000 mark.

I turn 70 in less than a year, and I drive a NC Miata and an Golf Alltrack - both manuals. If I had a boatload of cash to waste on cars I’d get a GX 550 and a LC 500 / Emira / Boxter GTS 4.

The more news I see such as this, the more I love my Cadillac Lyriq.

To bring back something from the old days: “building cars is hard”.

I’d would hope Jalop would know that HEV’s and PHEV’s ARE EV’s. Title should be. “

So I have a $1039 payment on a Hyundai Santa Cruz. But hear me out.

Yeah. This is some silly-ass suburban bullshit.
