I hate to say this, but sedans are doomed. Three reasons:
The original maxima with a v6 from the early 2000's was a straight up sleeper.
If he ends up living in a van down by the river with the gay frogs, I’ll be happy
If you were a lawyer would YOU risk disbarment for this guy?
Agreed. This is free money as far as I can see.
Or because you signed this agreement it could mean that you realized the car could catch fire so your friend sues you and your insurance company
Counter Point: Nah, there’s no such thing as a bullet-proof vehicle. The Bolt has been gone over so deeply at this point that there’s probably no difference is any sort of ‘risk’ between it and any other BEV. Grab the money and get on with life; no fire-sale, pun intended, needed.
If you own a Bolt and are reading this, do not do it. Lawyer up. They will put you through a deposition and try to scare you, then settle just before trial. You’ll get way more than $6,000.
Practically speaking most fires are covered by a combination of auto and home insurance. So all that a person is giving up is the right to sue to recover any deductible or shortfall as a result of coverage caps.
As someone that has gone through two class action lawsuits, TAKE THE $6k. My first one was from Toyota on sudden acceleration. Got a check for $3.50. The second was for LG fridges. Got a check for $350 after proving the fridge ruined all my groceries 3 times.
Considering the chances of your Bolt catching fire at this point is slim to none I’d go ahead and sign the release and cash the check.
+1
Two things
As a devoted cyclist, who does well north of 10k miles/year, I have a great disdain for people on bikes who run red lights….. but man… hit and run is inexcusable.
Um, James Brown wants his turn at the mic.
Does Tesla import cars to the US from Germany and China?
I think you missed something...
