High-range PHEVs are still great; I basically don’t buy gas ever for my Volt for normal driving, only for road-trips (during which it gets an easy 40 MPGs and drives just fine on gas all day).

It’s a huge waste tax dollars, and CA already has the highest state incomes tax rates in the country. If we were to raise them higher, that money should be used for public transit and education, not buying Lyft 10,000 new EVs.
