My experience was before the economic crisis, so mileage may vary. I found it to be similar to LA, and in that sense, not my favorite cup of tea. Sprawling, bad transportation, dirty, but things worth seeing and doing. My favorite time there was rooftop pools/bars/restaurants, spectacular views. Explore the parks

Bizzarre does not mean rare. Mine is them refusing to tell me the price and instead asking me to put in writing what monthly payment i want. I honestly believe they dont even tell the sales people the price.

Milwaukee person here. This is not a thing. Your analysis is spot on. There are taverns that make great pizza, but it is probably repeated elsewhere in concept. No patent pending, no self proclaimed uniqueness, just hey that place is good. This is nestle marketing, that is all. Maybe we could make it a thing, but I am

I have been doing a version of this for awhile, but I’ve always called mine Over Cheesey:

Oh wait, I got this........ three small parallel lines put on at 45 degree angles to the bread right angles and equidistant from each other. When you put the sandwich together you apply in a way that pushes it perpendicularly, then you bring it back to square. Total volume of mayonnaise depends then on the size of

I really should do this. I love finding myself with time to kill and ordering a beer at a bar alone. Maybe I’m waiting for a friend, a ride, or takeout. Whatever, I enjoy it, but I do end up on my phone way too much. I’m already someone who shuns the phone in the bedroom (it charges in the kitchen) and it’s always on

Trading Places, although it’s a trope used in a couple pop culture things of the past. Two rich people who don’t care about money care more about winning a side bet. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086465/

My sister has one that failed out of the local prison/police program for drug dogs. The best part, he only knows commands in German!

Our daycare taught my daughter this right away and since we are one of the first of our friends to have kids, all of our friends are shocked every time they see it. It really is the best thing when you live in a place where a jacket is needed to keep you alive 5 months of the year.

A mid-westerner who is good at knowing this distance and procedure is like a southerner who is good at knowing when to pull out a ma’m or sir. Easy for the person in the culture. Hard for others to learn. I tend to give people a break in other cities when they don’t hold doors properly, but here we do it on autopilot.

As an adult, half your age plus 9. So, those senior 18 year old boys should stay away from those sophomore girls, and they know it. You are 44 and want to date a 31 year old, go at it. pushing 45 and going for someone in their 20s has to be a one off, an exception to the rule, permissible by context alone.

I’ve been very happy with my used car purchases using the 3 year 30K miles as a barometer. Bought a 2000 in 03 that lasted me until 2014 and probably could have lasted longer if I didn’t need to upgrade size, a 2008 in 2011 that I still drive, and my wife upgraded from my original car to a 2014 model in late 2014. All

Day drinking and basic house chores are a very relaxing combination. It’s my preferred mode of operation when I find myself home alone with no plans, which is rare considering the wife and kids are always home or have plans. Bathrooms, floors, laundry, kitchen, organizing a closet..... but no actual work like

A grill pan, veggie of choice, olive oil, and salt.

You picked the fight that so many others wish they could. Being from where we live, and visiting where we were visiting my wife once drunkenly opened up on an obviously rich son of the south who drove what he drove as a matter of self importance, and she was right, but our other friends censored her for her own

I use a drop or two of Fee Brothers mint bitters.... and I don’t know what that makes me. No one else likes it, but ever since I made it experimenting with my parents liquor cabinet, it’s just how I take it. I’m not sure if I’m ahead or behind a trend, a monster, or just way off track.

Every day. Where I live my daily drive has multiple freeway options, and an infinite number of city street options. Do I go south then east (all freeway), or east then south (country roads and freeway), or do I use a combination of diagonal city streets to go straight southeast? 9 times out of ten going south east

Offering a way out is key..... even if you just want to stay friends. Having zero expectations is best because you never know how she remembered it. I have some people I just reach out to on occasion because I like them as people even though romantically everyone has moved on long ago, but I never reach out twice

Thanks!

Agreed. In real life we need revolutionaries / envelope pushers / radicals because they are often still valid perspectives to consider, and time has told us that often their contemporaries use that term, while the future uses words like leader, brave, or well I guess we still call them revolutionaries.
