Of course beans are #1. Hush puppies are fine, but beans are essentially an extension of the ribs/brisket/sundry other meats.

I can’t, but I also can’t say I’m privy to all team business. They tend to keep things pretty close to the vest, but I have to assume there’s been some point in the past 20 years when they have coveted a free agent and weren’t able to sign them.

Popp is obviously a great coach and it’s a great organization. But with Duncan likely retiring and Parker/Ginobli presumably on the downside of their career (Ginobli definitely), is there still the same appeal? Free agents could come to play with Leonard and Aldridge, and I can see the appeal, but is it that much more

That’s fair, I forgot about the West signing. I’m not trying to disparage the Spurs, they’re a great organization, but San Antonio just doesn’t seem like a sexy destination.

But are the Spurs an A-list free agent destination? Besides Aldridge, I can’t think of a single top tier free agent who ever signed there.

This actually works out well. Madden finally figured out to put the “curse” on someone who gets hurt every year anyway. Now they avoid the blame when Gronk’s knee goes out for the 5th time!

Big difference. Maple syrup makes terrible lube.

I didn’t watch the show and I know nobody cares about my boner (understandable!) but I really like that picture. Two beautiful women on a beautiful sofa. Just very aesthetically pleasing. Connie Britton can do no wrong.

So you’re saying Rose sets the gold standard for companions? Because I haven’t seen any but her, and I know they change down the road. I didn’t like Rose at first, but she’s grown on me. And that goofy bastard Mickey.

Oh, it absolutely doesn’t shock me. How could it, with everything we’ve seen recently? Still amazed though. That the value placed on the lives of minorities in this country is just barely ahead of where it was 150 years ago. It’s shameful and disheartening, but not shocking.

Yep. Indictment is not a conviction, and a conviction doesn’t mean there will be any REAL punishment meted out. If I wasn’t such an optimistic, good-hearted person, I’d think these indictments are happening to test the waters with the public, see what bare minimum of punishment we’re willing to accept.

990 fatal police shootings last year, Slager is one of only 10 officers to be charged with a crime

See, that’s my stance. First season with Eccleston was enjoyable, but I’m not feeling David Tennant. I guess Matt Smith is better? And even she doesn’t like Cipaldi. Parks and Rec is pretty much the great show ever as far as I’m concerned. Maybe I should make her watch Two and a Half Men or something as pennance, but

opening your ham wallet

Tangentially related: my wife and I are each making the other watch a TV series that we love and the other one hasn’t seen. Right now she’s making me watch Doctor Who, which is...ok. When it’s my turn next I have to go with Parks and Rec, right? I mean, it’s a no brainer.

You can’t forget the Regal Meagle!

I knew i recognized her from somewhere! She was Jean-Ralphio’s sister on P&R. Loved her. Money Please!

Bah, I was trying to play on the word “event” in relation to Patty Mills, who was made to look a fool by Westbrook in the video above. Probably out-clevered myself. And how here I am explaining my comment on the internet like some filthy Canadian.

Patty Mills:

I’m always interested in a good open world RPG, but Jesus Christ that combat looked awful.
