In both the books and show, Bran is essentially told that he’ll have a part to play in the coming war. Outside of conveying information he sees in his flashbacks, I don’t see how he could play much of a role outside of controlling something like a dragon.

Part of the thought process behind Tyrion being a Targ was always the “dragon has 3 heads” thing. So the dragons would be ridden by Dany, Jon and Tyrion. My wife was asking me who would ride the 3rd dragon if Tyrion is just a Lannister, and I’m like BRAN’S GONNA WARG THAT BITCH.

I think his destiny is to be a trusted advisor to Dany when she (and Jon?) eventually rule Westeros. His whole time as Hand in King’s Landing established that he’s at his best when he’s helping to run things behind the scenes, kind of the glue of the kingdom. Just seems like a better role for him than riding a dragon…

Yeah, I mean I’d love to see another series down the road focus on the Blackfyre rebellion, or the Dance of the Dragons, or the adventures of Dunk and Egg. There’s probably a dozen historical events that I’d love to see explored further outside of the current narrative. But it would just muck things up right now.
