She does keep failing, but part of her narrative arc is that she’s spending time in Essos learning how to rule. She realizes that conquering is not the same as ruling. She and Jon Snow are the closest things to “heroes” in this story, so while you can make an argument that Martin will subvert expectations by putting

I once shit on a platter to prove to my mom that I didn’t eat the goddamn skittles like she kept accusing me of.

Oh, I’m sure they’re canon. I’m not implying they don’t exist in the show’s narrative. Just that they’re not relevant to the current story, outside of some historical color.

To be fair, as a society we collectively purged Ja Rule from our memory around 2005.

And I hope that’s true! I don’t doubt it’s a step in the right direction. But ultimately he’s answerable to the Mayor/City Council (I don’t think it’s an elected position here), and he will still have battles to fight against the ingrained prejudice in that town.

In both the books and show, Bran is essentially told that he’ll have a part to play in the coming war. Outside of conveying information he sees in his flashbacks, I don’t see how he could play much of a role outside of controlling something like a dragon.

Dany rides one, Jon rides one, and Bran wargs into one. You don’t have to have 3 physical riders. I’m not saying it’s impossible Tyrion is a Targ, and in the books there are absolutely hints about it. But the show hasn’t really touched much on it.

I don’t disagree, there are definitely ingrained issues with the culture of the police force. But hopefully greater diversity and representation from officers who might have some perspective on what the disenfranchised community deals with will help. It’s a start at least. Can’t hurt.

Yeah, I’ve heard that theory but I have a few issues with it. Presumably Reed would be doing this to get vengeance on the Lannisters and all the mucky mucks in King’s Landing for what they did to his friend Ned, right? But I would think that getting to a position like High Septon would require years of service within

This picture is giving me the weirdest boner.

That sucks and I am so sorry you have to go through this. But please take some comfort in the knowledge that there are 3 people who will absolutely value and appreciate what you’re doing. Maybe not now, but someday your kids will realize how hard you worked for them.

“And there is no clear identification or definition of gender identity.”

This sounds good on paper, and I hope he can enact real change. But hiring a black Police Chief just feels like the kind of “we’re cool now, right?” approach the Mayor/City Council of a place like Ferguson would take. I still wonder how committed the city as a whole is to improving things.

It’s certainly possible; Idon’t recall hearing it but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t said. But even if it was mentioned in passing I don’t see enough support for what would be a major plot twist. It would really come out of nowhere to people who hadn’t read the books.

Sam Bradford Ends Extremely Weak Holdout

Yep, and that quote is a large part of what fuels speculation that a 3rd rider is needed, but in the books all the Starks are wargs to a certain extent, and in the show Bran seems like he could fill that role and control the dragon. I just don’t know how they pursue the Tyrion as Targ issue in the show at this point,

Part of the thought process behind Tyrion being a Targ was always the “dragon has 3 heads” thing. So the dragons would be ridden by Dany, Jon and Tyrion. My wife was asking me who would ride the 3rd dragon if Tyrion is just a Lannister, and I’m like BRAN’S GONNA WARG THAT BITCH.

I think his destiny is to be a trusted advisor to Dany when she (and Jon?) eventually rule Westeros. His whole time as Hand in King’s Landing established that he’s at his best when he’s helping to run things behind the scenes, kind of the glue of the kingdom. Just seems like a better role for him than riding a dragon

Yeah, I mean I’d love to see another series down the road focus on the Blackfyre rebellion, or the Dance of the Dragons, or the adventures of Dunk and Egg. There’s probably a dozen historical events that I’d love to see explored further outside of the current narrative. But it would just muck things up right now.
