When they do Secret Wars they are gonna reboot the MCU, so odds are they will try to bring in as many fan favorites as possible for one final send-off.

Considering Herc is played by lovable grump Brett Goldstein, I’m guessing he’d be the “straight man”
I think it should be pointed out that Evans tweeted “Sam Wilson is Captain America,” NOT “Anthony Mackie is Captain America.”
I could definitely see either of them coming back for a cameo (and a fat stack of cash), but I think both RDJ and Evans would decline anything more than a cameo, no matter how much money is thrown at them. (But never say never.)
That’s that patented AVClub lazy writing. An editor may have caught those but sadly there are no editors in California
Seems pretty likely that Marvel will do Secret Wars at some point and I’m sure they’ll try to entice RDJ and Evans both back with stacks of cash for that.
That was back before the MCU was such a big deal (only Iron Man 2).
OH, SNAP!
Taika Waititi’s hardly a stranger to dark themes being treated with a weirdly light touch, this is just his most notable fumbling of the approach.
Yea It was a crazy dark theme for a comedy movie. Thor DEEPLY depressed, jane with cancer, Gorrs whole motivation.. and then nonstop jokes. I really enjoyed the movie but yeesh not the best director/storyline mashup.
Thank god they fired all the old writers so we could finally have content like...this.
Usually I don’t appreciate the snark around here but I totally understand why you would be attacking a website that was “floating a lot of odd language in its coverage” or being “weirdly reticent” to acknowledge something obvious.
I will refer to him strictly as Captain Falcon and nobody can stop me
I’m kinda the same, just saw it tonight. Some of the stuff I loved, particularly the use of B&W, and pretty much everything else about that whole sequence. I like the themes it was going for, and the kids were great. But I feel like Waititi, who I mostly really admire, doesn’t trust sentiment or emotion, or can’t let…
Thor: The Dark World was directed by Alan Taylor, not Branagh.
Just got home from seeing it. It was... okay. Overall it was fine, but boy oh boy does the tone whiplash back and forth between comedy (which works, hmm, most of the time) and drama. I loved Ragnarok and thought Waititi did a great job on that film (and pretty much everything else I’ve seen him involved with) and love…
There’s a few videos of people starting moshpits, dressing in hi-vis gear to sneak bins of bananas into theaters, and throwing bananas at the screen. Even those videos are pretty funny, but as always the conduct of a few people ruins it for everyone else.
“life hacks no one would ever use” is the central premise of at least 50% of Lifehacker posts though
The HUGE piece of the article that was inexplicably omitted: “...The teens have been accused of disrupting the movie by making noise and throwing things. Staff at some cinemas have even said they’ve suffered a “massive” financial impact, having to issue refunds because of the bad behavior...”
because, like always, anything even remotely nice-seeming from TikTok is quickly overtaken kids looking for any excuse to be disruptive assholes.
