You almost never know who the opening act is for a comedy show and sometimes you don’t like that act.

She was a super hero fan girl and a Miss Marvel/Captain Marvel fan. It’s canonically why she took her old name of Miss Marvel and she was adorable when they finally met as well.

I’m actually surprised that Mooney lasted as long as he did, since he was kind of there as a a package deal with Beck Bennett (from their YouTube sketches that pretty much got them on the show). He’s pretty funny, but also too awkward at times. Once Beck left, his days were numbered. 

While I like Kate McKinnon, I don’t think it’ll be felt as much as people think. She’s sorta held back people like Heidi Gardner and Chloe Fineman in that both are talented sketch performers but SNL understandably feels the need to put Kate out there as much as possible. There's also the matter of her costume. The comic version is supposed to be a combination of Carol's Captain Marvel outfit and her original Ms. Marvel outfit. But MCU!Carol never wore her original outfit so why the lightning bolt and scarf?

I’ve always dug comic book Carol. She is a bad ass and she use to hang with the X-Men a lot. Movie Captain Marvel doesn’t do it for me as much but I’m hoping she fleshes out more in her next movie.

I remember hearing that Cecily Strong was all but guaranteed to be leaving last year, but it looks like she’s sticking around for another. Actually there was a lot of speculation last year that didn’t pan out.

It’s the most unrealistic thing about the show, even moreso than a magical bracelet with supernatural powers. 

Still kinda weird that Captain Marvel is such a well-known hero in-universe. Between her origin adventure and bringing Tony home at the start of Endgame, only Fury, Maria, Monica, and the Skrulls knew who she was. And it’s implied in Endgame that she spent most of the 5 year time-skip off-world.
