You almost never know who the opening act is for a comedy show and sometimes you don’t like that act.

She was a super hero fan girl and a Miss Marvel/Captain Marvel fan. It’s canonically why she took her old name of Miss Marvel and she was adorable when they finally met as well.
My guess.. end credit scene of the last episode that leads into The Marvels
I’m actually surprised that Mooney lasted as long as he did, since he was kind of there as a a package deal with Beck Bennett (from their YouTube sketches that pretty much got them on the show). He’s pretty funny, but also too awkward at times. Once Beck left, his days were numbered.
While I like Kate McKinnon, I don’t think it’ll be felt as much as people think. She’s sorta held back people like Heidi Gardner and Chloe Fineman in that both are talented sketch performers but SNL understandably feels the need to put Kate out there as much as possible. Others can’t really grow with her soaking up so…
Kenan is going to be there forever. He’ll take over for Lorne when Lorne retires. Sketch is his calling. His sitcom was fine, but he was born to do sketch comedy.
Ties her somewhat closer to the comic predecessor to Carol, Mar-Vell, who had Uni-beams and Nega Bands that supplemented his Kree powers.
Kamala Khan’s fangirling over Captain Marvel was because Captain Marvel was a regular presence in the Marvel comics while in the MCU Captain Marvel wasn’t on Earth, not even during the five years and I doubt there were TV cameras televising the fight during Endgame or Tony Stark’s funeral. So why would anyone know of…
Given Mark Ruffalo is appearing in She-Hulk for at least an episode, you'd have to think there's at least a chance.
There's also the matter of her costume. The comic version is supposed to be a combination of Carol's Captain Marvel outfit and her original Ms. Marvel outfit. But MCU!Carol never wore her original outfit so why the lightning bolt and scarf?
I’ve always dug comic book Carol. She is a bad ass and she use to hang with the X-Men a lot. Movie Captain Marvel doesn’t do it for me as much but I’m hoping she fleshes out more in her next movie.
With Kenan’s sitcom having just been cancelled, I guess he has no reason to leave yet.
I remember hearing that Cecily Strong was all but guaranteed to be leaving last year, but it looks like she’s sticking around for another. Actually there was a lot of speculation last year that didn’t pan out.
Good. All three of them had really been there way too long and Kate and Aidy are horribly overused (when they’re present for the episodes). And all three of them have fully settled in and given up on doing anything but pretty much the exact same characterization no matter what the sketch calls for. It’ll be good to…
Agreed. When did she supposedly do all these heroic things on Earth? Isn’t she supposed to spend most of her time in space?
It’s the most unrealistic thing about the show, even moreso than a magical bracelet with supernatural powers.
Still kinda weird that Captain Marvel is such a well-known hero in-universe. Between her origin adventure and bringing Tony home at the start of Endgame, only Fury, Maria, Monica, and the Skrulls knew who she was. And it’s implied in Endgame that she spent most of the 5 year time-skip off-world.
We found her! The person who’s really into Captain Marvel!
I assume the “A game Natasha Lyonne can’t elevate a middling SNL” review has already been pre-written.
They’re talking about Roz, who’s pretending to be a secretary to bust Monster’s Inc for crimes but is actually the head of a Federal Agency working undercover. Her niece/daughter is her replacement at the company and has the same vocal intonations.
