When did Google ever say that Android would be wide-open to the end user? They said it's open-source, which it is, you can download and examine the source code for every build. The problem is that people and the media have twisted that to mean that it should be wide-open to everyone in every way.

I'm still struggling for a reason to buy one of these (and since it's only $99 it doesn't even have to be a very good reason, that's right in my impulse buy wheelhouse).
