@TomXP411: That's nice...it was 103° here yesterday and it's 102° out there now. (Philly area)

Jeez all Apple did was kick in your door, confiscate all of your computer equipment and treat you like a criminal. It's like you took it personally or something.

So you're drawing conclusions about what FaceTime would look like on a direct 3G connection to AT&T by using another phone as a mobile hotspot to another carrier's 3G network? That's about as apples and oranges as it comes.

@b.picolo: Me either, and I've sat and tried. The only thing I can think of is that I live and work in the Philly suburbs and have rock solid 3G coverage everywhere I go. (If that does in fact have something to do with it.)

Jesus...it's been amusing watching this site's complete 180° turn towards Apple since you decided to buy stolen goods and realized that *gasp*, there might be consequences for doing so. But enough already, it's getting embarrassing now.

I, for one, can't wait to see what Steve's spin on this will be.

So it looks like it's $150 for just a new front, how does that help Ryan and his shattered back?

@largirl is moving on (right?): Well I ordered mine from AT&T since that's the site I was able to get through on so it wouldn't surprise me if it was just them and Apple shipped them properly. Par for the course.

@copytron: They do it all the time in the US, it drives me nuts. I was told I'd have to sign for mine yesterday, was home all day without a ring of the doorbell or a knock, and then my roommate walks in with the box in hand around 3pm. It was sitting on the porch. They couldn't even ring the bell and go!

The worst part is the horrible packaging that AT&T and/or Apple put these things in. Not the iPhone box itself, the box they put that in to ship is big enough to fit about 4 iPhone boxes in it and they put no packing material. Mine came yesterday with a packing slip and a single deflated square air bag thing. I've

@webdevmike: Except that right now there are NO cases available for it, let alone a solid, good looking case. They started shipping these things 2 days early to customers but didn't ship any cases to stores. I know because I spent 2 hours last night driving around looking for them.

@blehbleh13: It took 4 times to hit the wrong spot in the video, who's to say this guy's didn't hit that spot on the first one?

Jesus, why don't you cry about it? Guess what...I wasn't eligible for a cheap 3GS last year and I just sucked it up and waited 12 more months. I didn't write Gizmodo a novel like an entitled douche. Grow up.

@Vone: That's redundant. You don't restore and then update unless you're into doing things twice to waste time. You simply restore. 3.1.x — Restore to 4.0. Done.

I'd be willing to bet that both Adam and Mark Updated their iPhones instead of Restoring them. Guess what...updating from 1 - 2 was bad, as was 2 - 3, so why is this a surprise? You should never Update an iPhone in general if you want the best performance, and ESPECIALLY not on the yearly full version jumps. Move

@bienboy2710: Wow, overreact much? You took time to post a smartass remark on Gizmodo blaming others for what was no doubt your mistake before you even bothered to RESTART your iPhone?

This is why you never update iPhones in general, but especially on major revisions. Seriously, what's on there that can't be backed up and/or iTunes won't put right back on for you during the first sync? Don't update, click Restore and let it wipe and do a fresh install which will take 10-15 minutes, then sync with

@AbAeterno: Yeah me too, I even took off of work to sit home and wait for the FedEx guy. :-)

@MacPro66: 05.11.07 isn't going to be worth anything shortly, the Dev Team has been sitting on at least one exploit for the new baseband until the iPhone4 comes out. MuscleNerd has come right out and said on Twitter that they have an unlock ready and will be releasing shortly, so at that point everyone will update
