Just come this way! What all are you planning on doing in Japan? If you have a free day, I HIGHLY recommend climbing Mt Takao. It’s an easy shot from Shinjuku station on the Keio Line. You could go to Takao in the morning, climb, check out all of the awesome temples and stuff on the way up, have lunch at the summit

Literally a 3 minute walk from my house. haha. Hard Off, Book Off, and Garage Off.  ;)

I live in west Tokyo, and it is definitely hitting us and has been for a few hours. Pretty strong, but we didn’t get the brunt of it like Osaka. Things in Tokyo seem fine though, so don’t worry.

Umm... you do realize that you can’t have two majorities, right? Look, the way it works is that (... again...) people on the internet love to bitch, complain, troll, trashtalk, etc, etc, etc. Something about the anonymity of it, I guess. Do you remember when Splatoon was first announced? Because boy, I do. “’Lite

What part was so insanely idiotic, Mr Principal? That the vocal majority on the internet bitch and complain? Because that’s a fact. That the controller is for die-hard Smash fans? Because that’s a fact. That your complaining isn’t going to do anything in the grand scheme? Because that is definitely a fact. haha. That

This is where you are wrong. The vocal majority on the internet bitch and complain about everything, and they nitpick about the stupidest things. This is very much one of those stupid things.

I bailed on Demon Souls, especially after my friends hyped it up so much. I just thought it was too wonky and kind of bull shit. I skipped all the Dark Souls because of it too, but then my friend recommended Bloodborne and I bought. Ugh. Again, bailed on that too, in roughly an hour.

It has a lot to do with it, honestly. Do you know what the terms “deep” and “wide” mean in regards to hobbies? When someone uses the word “gaming”, it implies they have a wide hobby, meaning they play a lot of games. If someone says, “I just play World of Warcraft”, we call that person a deep gamer, because their

Did it sound like I was offended? haha. Because that’s definitely not the case. I just get sick and tired of people being all high and mighty about their criticisms of things that they are seemingly uninterested in. One person arguing with me didn’t even know that was the Smash Bros logo, which made me think, “Then

I never once used the word minimalism, so don’t add words to my posts. Secondly, I definitely didn’t need a history lesson on your gaming life. It’s not a competition, but again, if someone had to tell you that was the Smash logo, then your gaming experience isn’t very wide. Just deep, from the sounds of it.

Exactly. The sad thing about the internet is that everyone thinks they are the greatest critic, and they all think they need to voice their “professional” opinion and critique.

I didn’t use the word “minimalism”. I just said it was simple.  ;)

By your logic, it’s even more confusing, because all the Pro Controllers for Switch are translucent. haha. Including this Smash Bros one. So... what exactly is the problem here? Why do people get so cross about the weirdest things?

Someone had to tell you that was the logo? How long have you been gaming for exactly? If you’re going to say that you were just never into the series is your excuse, then explain to me how I know every fastfood logo very well, despite rarely-to-never eating at them? Your logic isn’t making sense either.

Explain to me then how this controller isn’t doing the same thing?

I don’t get your logic. The Xenoblade Switch controller is also very minimal with just a simple logo (X) on the face of the controller, but in my opinion, that controller is beautiful.

Excellent write up, David! My father and mother own a Gold’s Gym on the East Coast, so I was basically born into it. My father was a body builder during the heyday, even beating the great Lee Haney in the state competition level.

It’s why I used Metroid for comparison. Metroid in the west is incredibly popular, but in Japan, it’s so-so. In Smash, for the longest time, Metroid was only represented by Samus and Zero Suit Samus. haha. Not a lot of representation for a game that debuted in 1986. Thankfully now it has Ridley and Dark Samus (Albeit

It was definitely the only point in the Direct where I just sighed, negatively of course. I mean, I love Fire Emblem. I really do. But Considering its popular in the Nintendo world, it’s got roughly the same amount of representation as the Zelda series in Smash, which is pretty bonkers in my opinion.

Dude. That quote is so perfect for this situation. Thank you for posting it.
