There are few politicians I dislike more than Trent Franks. He is a self-righteous asshole and I couldn’t begin to list all the ways he has lied about, bullied, and disrespected women, people of color, and LGBTQ people. This is the least surprising Congressional revelation yet.

Count me as not surprised by male journalists with histories of assault being much more concerned with keeping the status quo than concerned with accuracy and fairness in reporting in their coverage of women. They didn’t respect women in any other way, why would they respect a female candidate?

I think everyone knows, and I think Republicans are counting on Democrats to remove their own when something like this happens. Make no mistake, Franken absolutely needs to resign, but whereas Democrats will take the moral high ground, Republicans will not.
