Yeah I think the disparity is way more apparent within the school especially since SHHS sits in the traditional Shaker Heights neigborhood- far away from the lower income areas that also are districted there. Having grown up in Shaker I could easily see what the book was describing, especially during the late 90s.

I loved it. I grew up in Shaker Heights and just understood the world so well so I think it felt very real for me in that aspect. Plus I can picture the houses so easily.
