And we go live to our man on the street in Harper’s Ferry:

Honestly just the tone of “We Fucked Up and There’s Nothing We Can Do!” kind of turned me off to seeing the movie. There is shit we can do it’s just that the wealthy have no interest in doing it.

ONCE AND FOR ALL!

Will it play in Harpers Ferry?

Ah, I have found his problem, it is “Making movies targeted at an audience of Joe Manchin”

I think it’s a little different. I don’t know how we could really stop a meteor from hitting us, but we know how to stop Global Warming. It’s just that our politicians aren’t handsome enough to do what needs to be done.

Warm take: everything is terrible, and lying to keep fun plot details sorta-kinda secret is ok actually.

If I’m reading your subtext correctly, you’re implying the presence of an intoxicated alligator?

So will crack. Well, for a little while.

He’s sucking dick for crack in Heaven now.

“Bob was the first comedian that I ever saw perform, when I was a boy, live, and I loved him. But one thing that bonds us as comedians is we’re bitter, and jealous, and we hate everyone else that has any success. But Bob, honestly, has never had an unkind word for anybody, and I love him, and I hope everyone else

I hope he didn’t compound his misery by watching it too.

Sadly not surprising all these stereotypes are in a series that is a love letter to the elite Old Etonian boarding schools that have served as a great bastion for WASPy males.

Don’t forget the Irish guy is constantly blowing shit up, and the only explicitly Jewish character is named Goldstein.

And don’t forget the roving bands of deviant male criminals trying to spread their blood- and saliva-born illness *specifically* to teenage boys

I believe the movies made it a lot less subtle, like having Jewish stars on the decor of the bank.

I don’t know much about the Harry Potter, so I looked up these banking goblins. Holy cow, it’s less subtle than Watto or Nosferatu. I assume the goblins were described as such by Rowling and it wasn’t just the films’ character designers - right?

To be fair, there were so many people for whom Harry Potter was the only books they ever read and their sole cultural touchpoint (except for perhaps The Office and Friends) that who could expect them to understand any of the cryptobigotry?

You mean to tell me that the TERF Wizard Lady who included a subplot in her books arguing that slavery is ok if the slaves are happy being slaves and whose only Asian and Irish characters are named “Cho Chang” and “Seamus Finnegan” respectively also had antisemitic stereotypes?/s

Speaking as a cis woman, the supposed threat of seeing male genitalia isn’t the thing I’m most concerned about when I use a changing room, it’s about being left alone in a relatively safe space. If there were a queer cis guy who felt unsafe in a men’s changing room I’d be fine with him changing with me in the women’s

biological sex is a thing, and women should be allowed spaces to change their clothes without seeing a penis.
