“Look, it’s a metaphor... why am I arguing with a robot?!”

OSI was GI Joe and SPHINX was Cobra.  There’s an episode with an OSI opening credits sequence that was basically the GI Joe one, but they slaughter their enemies.

Shore Leave is totally out of date in the show as well.  There was a bit last series where he brought Hank and Dean to Limelight, only to discover it had been replaced by a mall, and then suggested CBGB as an alternative

I love when Brock and HELPeR have a big fight about whether Led Zepplin are cock rock or not.

Come on! He’s in Depeche Mode!

Mike Cernovich was indeed a vocal and public supporter of Roy Moore

Apparently the new William Gibson novel is about people from the future fucking with the present to prevent Clinton from winning the election.

I’m glad they kept Minimoose in, he was the best thing about all of Zim’s early adventures.

Yeah, there’s definitely awful and callous things in their history, and as much as I enjoyed their gig here the other week, it still rankles a bit that they’ve been touring consistently for years, at least partially profiting off of Freddie’s memory.

They actively railed against the record company publicity machine at times. The clips in the trailers of execs telling them they wouldn’t release Bohemian Rhapsody as a single because nobody would play a 5-minute song on the radio are based on real conversations with the band. The band was adamant it should be, and to

Ugh, save me from all these puns.

Kor claims that he, Kang and Koloth ate an enemy’s heart in the DS9 episode “The Stowrd of Kahless”.  This isn’t exactly new to their character

I’m firmly of the opinion that New Order are one of the best pop bands ever, and Blue Monday is in the top five of pop songs.

Yeah, and they were all part of the songwriting process. A lot of their biggest hits were collaborations (Innendo, Under Pressure) or written by May (I Want It All, We Will Rock You), Taylor (Radio Ga-Ga, A Kind of Magic) or Deacon (You’re my Best Friend, Another One Bites the Dust)

There were all these rumours doing the rounds right after the Tribute that Queen were going to tour with George Michael singing.  That would have been amazing.

I’m in Love With My Car is the quintessential Taylor song, I think. Written about one of their roadies who was a total petrolhead, and when Taylor insisted it be the B-side for Bohemian Raphsody the rest of the band thought he was kidding. So he locked himself in a wardrobe until they agreed...

That’s kinda how I felt before going, and why I figured out how to go for free. But I’d definitely pay to go see them again.

So I saw Queen + Adam Lambert live on Sunday night, and they were really good! it was incredibly self-indulgent, with big flourishy finishes to many of the songs, Roger Taylor sang I’m In Love With My Car, Brian May sang Love Of My Life, with nobody else on the stage - he played an accoustic guitar for the song; and

39 is my all time favourite song!

Well, they were broken up at that point. But they still did some political music in that timeframe
