I think Britta gets a bad rap. Considering how sharp she was when the show started, I was never a fan of turning her into the group idiot.

Halt and Catch Fire pairs with Mad Men as two of the all-time best shows about adults navigating the workplace as American culture changes all around them.

Oh god, Manhattan. I loved that show so much. Not as much as Halt and Catch Fire (my second favorite drama series of the last 20 years, after The Americans, speaking of Matthew Rhys), but I was crushed when it was cancelled after 2 seasons.

You may hate me for saying this, but I’ve never even heard of Manhattan. What network was that on?

I’m from the future.

Except they already did that with Luke in TLJ and the fanboys lost it, even though he did end up literally saving everyone. I’m actually surprised there’s not more complaining about Obi Wan not being presented as an all-powerful swashbuckling Jedi right out of the gate.

Really not a fan of the second film. Best work is probably original film and then the original GITS:SAC.

Innocence has a special place in my heart for many reasons, the primary one being Gabriel the Bassett Hound.

If he doesn’t reverse the stupid ass decision to reverse all of Donna’s character development, then her return won’t be worth it.

Assuming that RTD was not puffing him up in The Writer’s Tale, Moffat was one of the very few writers who was not being extensively edited if not completely rewritten by Davies.

The first 2 episodes of Dracula were great.

the Matt Smith years were pretty inconsistent but Heaven Sent might be the best episode the show’s ever done.

I didn’t see Jekyll, but Netflix Dracula was a perfectly good time. But it’s less fascinating for being a revisionist Dracula adaptation than for the way it borrows from other revisionist Dracula adaptations.

So you’re mentioning all of my favorite shows now and I feel like we’d be friends IRL lol.

To be fair, there have been a couple of Moffetts closely linked to Doctor Who. I can’t say the same for Ecclestones.

I had long wanted to give Who a shot. I think I quit after that.

I don’t know that that is that hot of a take. I love “Blink” to pieces, but I’d have a hard time choosing between it and “Heaven Sent.” (Though my favorite episode remains “The Doctor’s Wife.”)

The Capaldi naysayers have always mystified me, whether for the actor (I know a few people who won’t admit that they don’t like him because he’s not hot enough, which is doubly wrong) or for the writing. Series 9 is very likely the best and most consistent season of NuWho. Gatiss’s episode is the only outright bad one

And let’s not forget Peter Davidson. (Dr Who Magazine Issue 61)
