Yes.

So ‘it wasn’t awful’ is the best that can be said about The Flash these days?

It absolutely applies to Parks if you ignore the truncated first season.

Yeah, most of the credit goes to Greg Daniels. But I think it’s fair to say he wrote some fantastic episodes during his time on the show.

B99 has only ever been ‘pretty good’ at best.

I don’t really count S1! It is only 6 episodes. But I suppose they learned from it.

I really like Parks S2 actually. Along with S3 it’s the only one that I enjoy re-watching. Seasons 4-7 are pretty weak.

Yeah, I love that one. ‘Spy kid’ trope is cheesy on paper, but it was so well done it didn’t matter.

Fair!

Yeah, The Office’s problem was that it got cartoonish and over-the-top (and some misplaced sentimentality, as well).

You hit the nail on the head.

The Office is a Greg Daniels show technically, but Schur did have a pretty big influence on it. I think The Office’s 2nd and 3rd seasons are the best things he’s been associated with, actually.

Still wasn’t enough to convince Handlen to stick with it!

I have about 5 finales that I would put as high. The Shield, Angel, Halt and Catch Fire, The Leftovers, and maybe for fun’s sake, Star Trek: TNG.

I don’t think that’s quite true, but it definitely received excellent grades.

The trend is, Schur shows start out great, then curdle after about 2 seasons. Hopefully this bucks the trend.

See, I agree that S4 is less cohesive, but it has almost as many standout episodes. And 5 has 3 episodes that are serious candidates for the top spot.

This somehow didn’t happen the past 4 years. I’m surprised.

It’s times like this that we must grit our teeth and remind ourselves that someone can be an integral part of a fantastic, morally complex show, and be an obtuse, thickheaded religious fanatic in real life.

I normally wouldn’t post a comment like that multiple times, but I think she’s putting a lot of work into them, and many PoI fans on here would enjoy them.
