Check out this YouTube series. She’s going through it one episode on a time on an analytical level. I think you will dig it. It’s not getting many views so far, but hopefully this will change later on.

Check out this Youtube channel. She’s going through it episode by episode, digging into all the character  work, themes, etc. The series is so excellent and well crafted that I’d find it difficult to do it justice. But she’s making a valiant effort.

It slowly gains in strength over the course of its first season and a half, with some strong episodes in the mix, before exploding into greatness in the back half of Season 2 and rarely looking back, albeit with a few exceptions.

For sure! And I think we’re both massive fans of the show as a whole. S3 is one of the best king-sized seasons of tv ever made.

Well, we will have to agree to disagree, then. (I think most of the pacing problems were caused by outside factors). I’d certainly put them above S2 and nearly on par with 3.

First 8 or so are the weakest of the whole run.

20. Get it up to Angel’s episode count exactly.

Yes.

I’d say the last three and a half seasons are all pretty great, even if S3 stands tall.

For me, Angel ends with Not Fade Away. And they all die in that alley.

I’m just as irritated by Angel getting cancelled prematurely as I am with Person of Interest getting cancelled prematurely.

They figured out that they had to make his character the butt of jokes rather than playing it straight.

Well, yes, but she only appeared in the final 6 episodes of the show....

Yeah, it’s one of the best genre shows ever.

I watched it for Amy Acker, specifically. I was hoping it would make better use of her talents than Angel (Fred was....fine). Thankfully that turned out to be the case!

The good thing is Caviezel gets less and less screen time as it goes on.

Her conspiracy theories were actually true....

Yep, doesn’t surprise me at all. The rest of the cast and crew seem like swell individuals.

He did star in Passion of the Christ....and I think he defended it afterwards, too. Maybe we should be surprised he didn’t go off the rails sooner.
