No, he isn’t, but it is wildly overrated by this site, just like Rick and Morty was last season. I don’t see Rick and Morty getting all As this time though-so it seems to have evened out.

Yeah, completely agree. I guess it’s just like that sometimes. Some shows struggle to get decent grades even when they deserve them, and others get As no matter what they do.

“Heaven Sent” obviously demolishes any Arrowverse episode, no questions asked. It’s right up there with The Leftovers as a whole and Halt and Catch Fire’s “Goodwill” when it comes to depictions of grief. “Hero I Go Again” is good though. Really, really good, and is probably the best standalone in the Arrowverse-Arrow

I count “If-Then-Else” as a Rashomon episode. Like the bowling episode of Malcom in the Middle. And I think it’s the best type of that episode, not just of this decade, but of any decade. Or any episode type. Basically, it’s the best thing ever.

I feel you, even though I personally feel the grade was somewhat earned-it was better than last week’s for sure. But ever since Season 3, episode 2, there’s been a large amount of people in the comments saying how this particular episode sucked, etc. Guess it’s just that type of show.

Glad to hear it.

We’ve done the whole ‘get inside a superhero’s head thing before’ and we’ve done the ‘let’s show the hero a perfect world’ scenario as well before. But this episode still worked-much better than the terribly disappointing “Flashpoint”. Maybe not as good as “The Runaway Dinosaur”, but still surprisingly compelling

Not sure why you’re in the grays, as you left quite a thoughtful response.

Depends on how it wraps up for me, I think. It’s definitely had some big problems over the years, but also a ton of transcendent stuff as well.

It wasn’t *entirely* a clip show, as it did have some nice character work for Chidi. It was still stalling (I may have overreacted in my initial appraisal of the episode), but I enjoyed it more than the contrivances of the first part of the season. Hopefully it picks up steam soon.

On par with Looper?

Was X-Men considered subversive at the time? Interesting.
