I think there was massive potential with this concept. The Twin Peaks of superhero shows, a meditation on mental illness, etc-whatever it wanted to be, it could do! I don’t think it ever lived up to it though. Lots of cool visuals and not much else. It was unique-but only superficially. Still an interesting series,

I look forward to my first watch! Hard to top the first time you watch something, except for those special shows which reward re-watching....

Well at least they’re ending next season. So there isn’t going to be too much more of this. I think that’s for the best. Like you said elsewhere, it’s crazy how this show holds itself together, and I’m not sure it can do that much longer. A set endpoint will hopefully energize the writers and send the show off with a

-Speaking of which, how many of the “100" are still left? This show doesn’t have a lot of characters left.”

Neither of you are wrong to not care, but focusing on this anomaly could allow the show to cease its endless stories about violence and the things we do to survive. I’m definitely skeptical about how this show could handle high concept stuff like that.

My interest is definitely piqued for the final season. Hopefully theyll bring the show home in a satisfying manner. I think, as far as Season 6s go, this one was really solid. For all of the missteps, cut corners, incoherence, and unearned character development The 100 has fallen victim to, Im still a big fan of this

Seasons of The 100 ranked:

I liked the book a lot. I’m not surprised that the movie fails to recapture what made it work though-lots of inner monologues.

All of those things would be welcome. I love this show and want it to end on a high note-so this is for the best I think. The show seems to have found a second wind with Season 6-hopefully that momentum carries them to the finish line. The main thing though that I want-the central conflict should be different.

Season 6 has been the best season since 2. And Season 3 was a complete mess.

Exactly. Buffy usually dealt with loss in a healthy way (aside from the end of Season 2)-whereas Angel just throws in the towel (or strangles his friends).

Exactly. There’s no final line that better encapsulates the themes of its series than that one ( maybe except for, funnily enough, return 0. Maybe having Amy Acker in your finale as a higher being is a good omen). Even if you argue that Not Fade Away is a tragedy (which I think it is, very purposefully), the final

I thought 1 was pretty much panned until 2/3 of the way through.

I don’t consider the comics canon-I think they all died right there, going out in a blaze of glory. A bleak ending, but completely fitting with Angel’s noir themes. The Buffyverse ended right there-and it was perfect.

Daizo!

Yes, especially if you are partial to medieval fantasy (not that its completely accurate to medieval times, but it uses that veneer).

Sunny’s been great for a decade-and-a-half straight. It definitely doesn’t get its due credit.

It’s Always Sunny is hilarious. Love it. And Angel has one of the best finales of all time.

First two seasons were great though. After that, eh. I agree with your grade.
