I’ve never even seen either show, and I’m still sick of them.

I don’t know if the slump Kyle mentioned was that big of a deal. Even if it felt a little familiar, the show did a pretty good job holding my attention until the fireworks start, presumably in the next episode.

True. I mean, I wish she had never died as well! The fact that the actress signed on to do Fear the Walking Dead also hurts. Her death could have been handled better. But....c’mon. It’s been 2 years.

Great episode, and review. The scenes with Octavia and Bellamy worked *really* well.

The Emmys are even more worthless than the Oscars, honestly. At least the best picture nominees were mostly deserving last year. With this? No The Good Place or Brooklyn-99 for comedy. No Bojack Horseman. No Halt and Catch Fire. And of course, tons of nominations for Westworld, Stranger Things, and Game of Thrones,

Murphy is the best.

I don’t know if I agree about the mid-season slump you mention in your review. Seasons 1 and 4 had weak first halves and terrific second halves. Season 2 was excellent start-to-finish, and Season 3 was weak start-to-finish. So far, Season 5 had an amazing start, but has had a somewhat lackluster middle, though far

On the plus side, there are no more breaks until the end of the season.

That sounds like paradise compared to Kinja.....

Just out of curiosity, what commenting system did the AV Club have before Disqus?

To be fair though, it’s kind of poetic. It was Cooper’s idea to use the worms in the first place. She also had live test subjects.

There’s only so many times you can mine drama out of a certain situation, and sadly I think The 100 reached the limit long ago.

Yeah, I love how Clarke and Bellamy claim Octavia’s gone off the deep end, but their first solution was to sadistically (death by worms? <shudders>) murder someone and frame them. Good job, guys. Though, to be fair, Cooper’s getting a taste of her own medicine. I guess everyone besides Monty is just awful now.

I’ll go out to bat for this episode and say I didn’t find it as frustrating as you did. It was generally exciting enough for me to overlook the repetitiveness. I’m excited to see if all hell breaks loose, or if they’ll actually find peace. It kinda seems like life under Diyoza might be better than if Octavia ruled the

She appeared several times in the first two seasons. The third season is when The 100 started, and she barely appears from that point onward.

I like how every character remembers what happened previously on the show, and that those events inform their current worldview. It’s a sign of good writing. I don’t like the Abby addiction storyline, mainly because I don’t find the Abby character compelling, and am still a little miffed that Paige Turco stopped being

There’s an episode coming up called “The Dark Year”, which will hopefully allow us to understand her mentality right now a little better. I mean, we went from an extreme example of the either/or fallacy to a throne made of human skulls.

No.

Upvoted for POI reference. Also, yes. I would say this show is a fair amount better than the traditional sci-fi show that most people love, Battlestar Galactica.

“Superhero films don’t come much better than The Incredibles.”
