Worse interior, lousy dealer network and service, no aftermarket, all for approximately the same price as an M3 or loaded M2. That’s how it was overpriced - at 64+k, might as well get the German for the extra 1k. Or save some cash and get a lighter-optioned M2. CTS had the same problem - by the time you got up to the

I’ve tried to like Cadillac. I really have. I respected the first and second generation CTS-V - good cars, just not for me at the time, and they’re really just toys. I looked at the ATS when it came out; overpriced, lousy option mixes, mediocre interior. Just, nah. Lousy engine options too. ATS-V? Neat toy, but 20k

I guess his insurer will be ... seeing red?

Porsche figured out which gods to sacrifice to for that transmission.

Because people in Puerto Rico buy different cars than people on the mainland. Different economics, different priorities - just like Hawaii and Alaska tend to have some differences.

Paying for a Yaris and getting a Mazda sounds like a great deal to me.

None of those cars sell in any kind of worthwhile numbers, so no, they shouldn’t - or they couldn’t actually bring out the fun cars we all want, because they’d be losing money on subcompacts that no one buys new or wants.

What I was going to say. I’ve got mad respect for the 3800 Series motors - Reliable, simple, torquey, and decent punch when you want it. Even sound pretty solid.  One of the best motors GM ever made.

I’ve seen this list, but I didn’t even think about it at the time (I do a LOT of car buying).

And who in the world is buying them in the first place? By the time I get it specced the way we want, we’re close to $45k. I can think of a LOT of cars at that price range I’d rather have.

Mine did this for two years before I sold it.

There’s a difference between accepting risk and courting danger; and courting danger, and walking blindly into extreme danger. It’s all shades of gray. Not commenting on McCandless’ particular situation here, but in general.

Damn; thought it was longer - sure seems like it right now.

I’ll grant this is more vapor than the others, but how many years now has it been since the announcements?  I’d even call the Supra vaporware until it came out - how many teasers did we get of it?

And 3DRealms had working examples of Duke Nukem Forever for 10 years too.  Doesn’t make it less vaporware, in my humble opinion.  Just means they’ve built random prototypes and claimed it’s going to exist.

About as vapor as the Tesla Semi and Roadster then?

Looks great.  Now put the ecoboost in it.  :D

Don’t forget altitude for those of us who live up high. The IS350 makes less power than the 250 where I live; density altitude is a right proper pain.

Except here’s the thing: I buy these kinds of cars, and I’m not buying a Tesla. Tesla isn’t even on my list right now. The model 3 has a mediocre interior with only decent driving dynamics, limited range and utility for what I do, a mixed bag of a service experience, and awesome power. It’s not something I’m even

ICE sports sedans aren’t dead for a while yet; even with Tesla - lots of folks just don’t like the Tesla model 3, and the S is a significant price difference.
