Most of the time. My Jaguar F-Type SVR has an obnoxious crackle tune from the factory. I can make it make as much noise as I want on command. I cannot make it be quiet on command.

I cared.  I was thinking “Camry Camry Camry”.  Is it at least a V6?

Basically the same here, except I ended up with a Corolla. I wanted something totally reliable, with good mpg, and — wait for it — a stick shift! My 2022 Corolla Hatchback (bought new) was the last year a manual was offered and it gets around 35 mpg. I was a little disappointed with its somewhat cramped interior as

Oh I’m certain of it. Hopefully there’s a little period in between where they get really cheap and I can buy one

I’m just saying that when Japan and Germany team up on a project, the outcome is kinda doubtful.

They’re wrong (or, at least, the software has been updated since then)

I’m not buying the CarPlay take after reading the Ars review of the Blazer EV.

I saw the picture first and was incredibly perplexed. Then I read the comment and laughed.

I just did my first, actual, honest-to-god spit-take. Ice cold seltzer-water right through the nosepiece.

This is so sad, because the system on my MK7 GTI is basically flawless. It reacts immediately. The screen is big enough to see map directions, and small enough it does not distract you. It has buttons and knobs I use without even looking. CarPlay is seamless and works every time, all the time.  It also has one more

Instant ND for the “Let;’s go Brandon” sticker. Immediate red flag that the seller is a moron and thus the mechanicals on whatever toy this thing is will be suspect.

We always take a 4x4 for our ski trips. Currently I have three peak tires on my truck (Falken Wildpeaks), so I guess I don’t need to worry about the requirements on our next trip out there.

It’s easy: Wireless android auto/carplay, keep physical buttons for the important stuff (volume, all climate controls), a touchscreen (because that’s what carplay/android auto are designed for), physical buttons on the steering wheel, a dashboard display separate from the center display.

And upgrades. Don’t forget upgrades. I used to get upgraded a lot when I was a regular business traveler, even though my company only ever bought Economy tickets.

Ok, that’s new to me. In that case, yeah, I can see something like CarPlay being more useful because it is the same look across all cars.

Lol, well, you’ll certainly pay. Whether or not it will still suck is not yet clear.

Early iDrive was shit

Yet another TDI emissions-related scandal . . . .

people needed a real XJ replacement, and the JK was it.
