That’s not quite a wagon...

Yeah - when they went to the new transmission, they dropped the AWD+V8 option. It had been there from the beginning.

AWD is a requirement where I live unless it’s a summer toy. Yay positive traction laws.

Sure. Briefly. Like the BRZ and FR-S, or the ATS or SS, it’ll attract a handful of buyers the first year, and then get mentioned for 4 years as a “good car but none of you are buying it, especially new”, while those of us that can afford to buy it new keep trying to explain that no, it’s really NOT that good, or that

The charger with AWD is a joke. Heavy, underpowered, sluggish, and about as fun as day old oatmeal. The fusion and Taurus both suffer from the same two key issues: they’re fat and unengaging drivers, and someone let a complete moron design the interiors. Seriously, the central speedo and big screen design on both

GT2 has it as a no-cost option, at least on AWD. Try clicking the AWD button?

I don’t think anyone makes a wagon with a stick anymore in the luxury category, do they? Or a hatchback...

Sadly, only BMW has that figured out in this power range. Even Audi gave up on the stick in the S4/S5. You can still do a 340xi with a stick, but that’s it.

Except the Cadillac. Outside of the -V, those lose value almost as fast (at least around here). A 1 year old with 12,000 miles loses close to 35% of its value.

And the other half is that I want GM to make another car I want, other than the corvette and Camaro. A real modern luxury sports sedan. The prior generation Regal was damned close in some ways, and to me this is a step backwards. FCA and Ford are both empty in terms of options, and Cadillac can’t get out of its own

Hell, we made RWD illegal if there’s enough snow.

I don’t pine over those cars. I’ve honestly never understood the brown diesel wagon love; that shit boring, yo.

2k - Beyond the massively more powerful engine, RWD option, etc?

Better brakes are not about performance? How about the performance seats? The sporty styling? The fact that their website talks about performance constantly? They sell the GS as a sports luxury sedan.

They put AWD on the Vsport or ATS-V and I’ll buy one tomorrow. New.

Because they did a shitty job of both of those, that’s why we don’t buy them. Last time I went looking seriously at luxury sports sedans, the ATS was at the absolute bottom of the list of ones I liked, and was the second most expensive one I looked at too. The CTS didn’t even make it on the list as being massively

Sufficient, sure. Competitive, no. Especially when we look at the GS trims.

Agreed. Especially when an N/A V6 is a massive step back from what the rest of the industry is doing as well. This was phoned in, especially on the GS model.

I thought this was a David Tracy piece at first.

You can barely get a Miata for under 30k...
