So, ultimately to save ISS, we need to basically expand it with new parts and throw out the old ones.

They’d no sooner ban bicycles than ban ducks, quail or deer.

Dumbest comment ever.

I’ve got some bad news for you. It is an entitlement. All that ‘account’ BS is in fact BS. It’s a tax on workers with no deductions, and they can change the payout of the entitlement at any time.

Sure. Enjoy your fascist leader while pointing to scapegoats.

The best vehicles would be some that are legal in the countries people are fleeing to. That way they can bring and keep the car after reregistering it at the destination.

Cars will be outlawed and you’ll be required to own a pickup.

I know car regulations bother even a lot of car people who aren’t mindless chuds, so I want to tell a little story. It’s something that happened today, in fact.

exactly! It’s a basic skill that every driver should master.

I think it is important to have local control of safety standards! While it is annoying in its’s current state imagine how annoying it would be if there was a new safety technology that your country  wanted adopt in your country but first you have to convince Japan, EU, China ect to adopt it as well??

If this administration has its way, we will BE the lowest common denominator.

Sorry, Jimmy. You were doing well there until you failed the part where you cover the bicyclist in thick, black soot. Come back in two weeks and take the test again.

So just to get this straight, we can’t have Chinese cars in the US due to a national safety risk, but we sure can remove all the safety out of our own cars to bring the costs down to a competitive level?

Anyone building a rocket car is a pussy unless they use solid fuel rockets.

Finally, Ford, GM, and Ram will be able to sell the vehicles everyone has been demanding! Diesel pickups that replace tree hugging hippie crap emission controls with full time coal rolling, sport multiple side saddle fuel tanks on both sides, have three row seating, come lifted from the factory, and replace all those

The biggest loser of this, as I think about it, is American Manufacturers with their giant grilled trucks that absolutely suck at pedestrian safety.  I don’t see the EU relaxing their NCAP standards on this.

The reality will just be that they keep building the same stuff they currently do, but they’ll cut more corners. Expect a lot more Tesla-style “fixes” on the assembly line.

Worldwide homogenization would be great, as long as we aren’t caving to the *lowest* common denominator.

Rolling coal should be a mandatory part of the driver’s ed and driving test.

If I can’t get a Suzuki Jimny, what even was the point of destroying the American experiment?
