@MarcusMaximus: Unless I'm wrong, the air above the ground would keep moving (I suppose "the Earth" could mean atmosphere as well) and so to my mind the biggest problem would be the force of the air, knocking shit over. Not to mention the friction heat from the movement.

I love with this show the same way I love Mythbusters. Yes, I know the science is ridiculous. Yes, I know they rig the entire thing. But let's face it, it's a show where a Japanese Samurai fought a Spartan Warrior, its the "incredibly awesome" factor that keeps me tuned in.
