Random as heck directors and creative people and actors are expressing interest, then dropping out of their movies left right and center. They're letting a totally inexperienced mid-20 year old executive produce one of them. It's bonkers. What are they even doing anymore?
It's like they're announcing all these projects

Okay, this makes like zero sense.

I'm sorry to tell you your circle of friends may not be indicative of wider audience opinion. The fact that the audience was over 50% women should tell you that it's a factor. See also Black Panther.

I rewatched The Dark Knight trilogy the other day. God I miss Nolan.

Did it do well in China though? Comedies don't tend to travel well, do they. Although I know the Chinese do love The Rock because of Fast and Furious.

Only the people who get catered to all the time in film say they don't care who the lead is. Lots of people who aren't, do care.

She wasn't saying that though? And isn't she right?

I mean she's not wrong. There have arguably been more iconic female action heroes than male ones. I mean less in general, overall, but the female ones that do land are absolutely incredible and unforgettable: Ripley, Sarah Conner, Furiosa, even arguably Rey. It's a pretty short list, but those characters are

Didn't Baywatch flop hard just last month though?

I keep wanting to see Atomic Blonde trailers at the actual cinema, but all we got before Wonder Woman was Justice League and Spiderman.
Spiderman looks kinda cute and fun though.

Do you skip all the James Bond and John Wick movies too? I'm just assuming you're lumping literally all these kinds of protagonist-centric action movies together as one? Or I guess you separate them into 'guy action' 'lady action' piles, then give them all a collective miss? Because aside from being anti-hero focused

You mean like the aggressively machismo superhero movies that have come before it and been overrated by certain critics with certain chromosomes?

52% female majority audience too. Just to smash every misconception in one single go.

He's saved several franchises from extinction, maybe he can do the same for the human race.

I'm guessing you didn't actually watch the GitS movie if you thought the accusations were baseless. The movie actually makes a canon big plot point of it, so yeah, not bullshit.

Oh boy, I can't wait for them to cast one of my fav action ladies so I can't not see her doing things as the camera wildly jerks around and cuts flick by in milliseconds.

Considering this venture is something of a "revenge" idea for him based on his ousting from polite society he is now literally a professional victim in the truest sense of the term as he defines it. What a piss baby.

How was Brie Larson's role? I'd assumed it would be pretty big given it was just a bunch of people in an enclosed space and she featured a lot in the marketing.

I think the thing I've been most annoyed over in regards people's responses to the series (although not shocked by) is the fact that people seem genuinely confused how to feel about an extremely abrasive and arguably very unlikable young woman protagonist who achieves success using not always moral or honest means.

I'm watching GirlBoss and I'm really enjoying it so far.
