Ariel Atom 500. Hear me out.

Modern EPA numbers tend to be pretty accurate for gas engine vehicles.  EPA test cycle does seem to underrate diesel HWY ratings, though.

Beating the numbers won’t be an issue at all, Mazdas usually do poorly on the EPA tests. My Mazdaspeed3 was rated at 25 on the highway, yet my overall AVERAGE was 27.3 and I drove the shit out of that thing.

It’s been two days, chill.

The article above specifically mentions the VW is on daily duty, long distance too for a commute. Your argument is invalid.

Woah woah.... hang on.

“as all good gearheads should.”

I know I’m a weirdo but I love this.
Had a B3 GT wagon until recently.
Yeah whatever, air suspension “looks crap, hate stance” blah blah blah. That’s still a supercharged VR6 B3 wagon. I want this badly. Sadly I can’t just nip and get it as I’m in the UK. You guys suck.

“I don’t understand this modification/culture, therefore everyone else should also hate it!”

Btw Rob as a tire salesman please stop saying Connies, if you feel the need to shorten Continental the industry refers to them as Contis

How do you work that one out?  Turbos have massive low-end torque - especially diesels.  They generally outperform supercharged engines by a massive margin at the bottom end.

If Windows 10's track record is any indication, I fear for the worst.
Buy a new car, and whenever you adjust the seat a new update comes along that makes it forget the settings. Or causes the locks to randomly disengage. Or erases the SD car inserted into the dash that has all your paid-for maps. Or your drive by wire

Torque.

Those have only about half the torque.

But ought’nt a bigger engine spend more time at lower revs, and thereby consume less fuel? “No replacement for displacement”?

This is not an impressive number. That being said, this is also not an impressive vehicle.

Tow rating?

While I like seeing numbers that high... I was kind of expecting a bit more out of the diesel for highway numbers.
