Alright, so as I said, what good will increasing the standard do when everyone will just keep buying CUVs which skirt the standards?

Chances of said schmuck actually paying attention to the rear view to see in in the first place?

Counterpoint:

I would call needing to be remapped a disadvantage.....

Now how many vehicles on the road are actually fleet vehicles and how many are CUVs driving 1 kid to school because #coolparents?

Again, take care of your old car, it will take care of you. My old vehicle spends 1/2-1/4 of the time in the shop as people around me with vehicles 1/2 it’s age or younger with 1/2 as many miles.

Too bad 2 lane roads don’t have passing zones......

Mid 20s from a full size rwd sedan isn’t good mileage?

Unless 2 engines and 3 transmissions under warranty is some pillar of reliability, I would leave the Corolla out of this.

the 2020 freeze, estimates Americans as using 206 billion more gallons of gas through 2050 compared to what would likely be used under the current standards, according to Automotive News.

Engineer for stupid, it just breeds more stupidity.

$1500/yr is far cheaper than even a cheap car payment every month.

My Toyotas were the most unreliable vehicles I’ve owned.

I don’t see the point of saving money if it means, I’m stuck driving some old POS.

Try driving a V6, or a 4 cyl that’s had the reflash.

They had poor tuning initially, which lead to harsh shifts, unnecessary shifts, etc.

If you calm down and stay off people’s asses you’d be amazed at how few times you actually have to kick your cruise off.

Pretty sure said equipment was never designed to have a car trying to push it out of the way either.....

The majority of which were on the base 4 cylinder models.
