I especially love the “just don’t have an accident” people.
Stop worrying about it.
I was taught to find a vehicle’s limits off the streets and how to handle a vehicle at it’s limit so I would know how to properly handle it on the street.
Never rolled a car.
I was taught to always be aware of my surroundings and other vehicles. I was also taught many things that have helped me avoid many accidents, from being rear-ended to being t-boned to being hit head on.
Given both parties driving appropriately, name one that isn’t.
Good parents teach their kids how to drive properly before handing them the keys, so they shouldn’t have a need for most safety features.
Or I can buy this one for less than 1/2 that price and only minimal work: https://lacrosse.craigslist.org/cto/d/1992-infiniti-m30-convertible/6582503204.html
What are you teaching your kid that they need rollover protection?
I owned a 2nd gen Stratus sedan on the JR platform with the 2.7L for 6 yrs, 206k miles. That car was one of the most reliable vehicles I’ve ever owned. One timing chain/water pump replacement, one suspension rebuild in 206k. Otherwise regular maintenance was all it ever asked.
Only the heart and soul of the car are the same.........
Had the maintenance been done as it should from the beginning, you wouldn’t be playing catch up now.
They were great cars when taken proper care of. Problem is no one took care of them.
The Coupe/Avenger are on the FJ platform, which is a modified Mistu PJ platform.
It was actually quite easy to do.
Had to dig deeper for that one, but you are correct. Coupe was 95-00, on the same FJ platform as the Avenger. Both got a facelift/interior changes in 1997.
Coupe was 97-00 only. Vert was 95-00. The Sebring sedan was the Cirrus.
Torque converters were never an issue in Chrysler A604 transmissions.
I had actually forgot about the 97-2000 coupes. That is one car I’ve never worked on, nor seen enough of to remember.
