This is a 95-2000 Sebring.
They did not have a coupe in this generation. The Avenger was the only coupe in the stable.
The 4 speed in these was actually very good for the time.
They were 6G73s in this era.
Guessing 4 cyl model.
Last I checked, the Sebring vert and coupe of this vintage were the same car mechanically.
Our 2012 Corolla S ate 2 engines and 3 transmissions (manual) while under warranty.

Our 1990 would crack 38 mpg with a 3300 V6/4-speed combo on the highway. Never dropped under 30mpg in mixed driving.

There is absolutely zero reason a midsize sedan should not be able to accomplish 40mpg in this day and age without hybridization.
We owned a 1990 Century years ago. 3 adults and 2 kids in car seats was not an issue ever.

I will agree, they gear transmissions for acceleration instead of economy, hence why we have 8-10 spd vehicles getting the same mileage as old 3-4 spd vehicles used to.
Sienna, Odyssey, CUV drivers are some of the worst drivers I have ever encountered.
Buy a minivan, problem solved.
Find me one with a 3300 and a 4-speed and I will.
And it’s still a Camry..........
