Problem is modern cars don’t actually get much better mileage in real world use, so they’d be paying for the same amount of gas.

Looks like a cobbled HKS knockoff........

They already have no money, so they should take out a loan to get a different used car and have a car payment tacked on to more expensive gas and more expensive insurance?

Considering I make less than $50k/yr supporting a family of 5, I can tell you first hand, a significant gas tax will be the difference between making ends meet and asking for govt aid to put food on the table for a lot of people.

They’re already broke, now they’re paying more at the pump, where exactly are they getting the money to buy another vehicle?

Increasing the fuel economy does nothing to help those who can’t afford a new vehicle.........

‘unmolested.’

Increase the gas tax = Make those who can barely make ends meet already even worse off.

You mean a couple decades ago........

Handjob, no.

Transit Connect, false.

3.0 yes. High compression, tons of port work, better cams, light flywheel, upgraded fuel, close ratio trans, etc.

I’ve been keeping an eye on them since I drove his. Best I’ve seen so far was $48k which is about $18k more than I’m willing to spend.

I borrowed a friend’s for a couple weeks.

Honestly, a manual in these is a waste. The auto is glorious.

I used to tell people my old car was bone stock after waxing their STI, FoST, 5.0 Mustang, etc.

I’m sure it has nothing to do with modern cars being harder to see out of and people being continually being buried in their phones. /s

4 trips to the parts store to get the right parts and 6 hrs later: “Honey it lives again!”
