Pretty sure you just described almost every modern vehicle.......
Pretty sure you just described almost every modern vehicle.......
Explains why these cars get the same real world mileage as their modern counterparts that have 2-4 extra gears.......
That 3800/4-speed combo got the same mileage as many new sedans with twice as many gears...........
Use a solid trans you already have in production is a far better idea than designing one from scratch......
Yet I would much rather own this powerful, comfortable, reliable cruiser than anything made today......
Many manufacturers are still doing it today.
Sounds like it needed a driver mod.....
I don’t disagree, but I must say it is our problem, whether it should be or not.
That kinda stupid is already on public roads, being saved daily to wreck another day by all the warnings and nannies. Others are already in danger.
My 92 Chevy 1500 4.3L 5-speed could pull 24mpg with a 2 place trailer and 2 sleds behind it..........
I say remove the warnings/nannies and let stupid sort itself out. Those lost along the way are just causalities of the war for a better world.
22mpg according to fuelly for the new Impala V6. 22-23mpg for the 3800 cars, where’s the slight mileage increase?
Is there a reason GM developed engines to replace the 3800
It’s not unlike GPS to tell you to turn until after the road or leading you down some “road” that’s not actually a road, leading to driving in circles either.......
A 90s 2wd foreign truck (hell even S10s/rangers) with a 4cyl/stick can easily crack off high 20s in traffic. High 20s is much better than 15 last time I checked.......
My other daily is a crew cab long bed f250, never had an issue parking it, that seems to be a small vehicle problem around here.
When you’re only using it for half-ass truck things and commuting, why wouldn’t you want 7 extra mpgs and less size to try to maneuver in traffic?
So have your wife give you directions off a map or her phone.
Maybe that’s because no one actually makes a car we want to buy, so instead we buy something close to what we want used, then we don’t feel bad modifying it to what we want.......
This.
