I will even cook burgers in the insta-pot. Very little heat (we don’t have a bbq) and are surprisingly delicious.

Ooh, cheese and charcuterie/pate! I’ve been craving that this week as it is sooo hot out. And if you’re too hot to eat very much, then it keeps well in the fridge for the next meal.

I’ve been following your story for some time on SNS. I would strongly urge you to talk this over with your therapist (and if you don’t have one, then I would even more strongly urge you to find one). You need to work through your issues regarding your ex before you can even think about bringing a child into your life.

I mean, I wouldn’t wear that either. But more importantly (to me), is that her lawyer on the left? He’s wearing a suit from the Trump school of tailoring. What is that tie? And his awful tie is wrinkled and the clip is askew! It’s like they’re asking to not be taken seriously.

What he needs is a “back off, sit down, don’t be a bully” basket—I don’t think he’s corrupt, or even necessarily appears to be, but his actions do NOT reflect well on the rest of the party (many of whom are admirable). And that leaves us perilously open to Scheer and his MCGA party...

Since we’re already having supply problems with legal weed, this would have been a great idea for the new NAFTA!

That’s (to me) what made the 90s so wonderful—that this kind of interaction could have happened. It wasn’t uncommon then, and we thought we were figuring things out and making them better.

I am so sorry this happened to you. What a terrible experience, and I hope you are ok (as much as one can be) now.

I don’t live in NY, but it is really that bizarre to walk into a store and only buy a can of soda? Are bodegas different?

I agree. And when one can temporarily abscond to Jordan while also taking a leave from one’s job at the World Bank in the capital of the US, and then CLAIM those as damages in a lawsuit ... really, the privilege here is incredible.

So did you read the actual study, or just the Times article and the abstract?

Kinda off topic, but does anyone else remember the Klaus Nomi account who used to only post comments in GIFs?

Ugh. I agree with most of this, and it makes me exhausted reading it. But, a few points:

This is frighteningly accurate, and doesn’t even need to be tied to Pence given that there are a ton of lawmakers who would love to do (and are trying to do in different ways) just this.

Really? Because etiquette was/is based on upper-classed norms. Now, these classed norms would have been imposed on others, but I really doubt that this was a common point of etiquette in the blanket way you are talking about.

As outlined in another thread, there are a lot of personal reasons for wanting to track periods (which is cool! you do you!). But one thing I’ve never understood is the medical establishment’s obsession with them. I understand if you need to make sure someone isn’t pregnant before tests, or want to outline the risks

Employers only want this data for one thing, and one thing only: so they can fire you before you need accommodations due to your health. Maybe pregnant? Let’s fire her before she tells us so we don’t have to provide mat leave or hold her position. Experiencing out-of-the-norm periods? Let’s fire her before she tells

Hey! Totally different issue, but my beloved fur-baby went through a similar process a couple of years ago. I was a total wreck (she didn’t care so much). BUT, once we got a diagnosis, the whole game changed! Now I know how to treat her and what she responds to whenever things go sideways. It is actually a huge relief

Health care for women needs a huge amount of fixing. Is this it? Absolutely not. But some of their model does at least highlight some of the issues women (including trans and non-binary women) face when accessing (or not accessing) care. Women’s health concerns are often taken less seriously. Most (especially from a
