What the shit happened with this comment section? So many replies about either Miley’s apparent non-commitment to marriage (only because it didn’t last long enough?) or slut-shaming her. What the hell, Jezebellians?

On first read, I thought maybe the author had confused Marlene Dietrich and Mae West. But then again, either of them could be applicable in different ways I suppose.
Are you not comfortable with this? Because that’s a huge ask. You’re still getting to know your bebe and they are still getting to know you!
I’m so sorry. I’m sure you gave them wonderful lives filled with snuggles and treats and playtimes.
I love (that’s not even the right word, I love it as a piece of literature but hate the content) The Handmaid’s Tale and have read it several times. I knew what was coming when watching this adaptation and I still needed time-outs from it.
Congrats!
There is a common theme in many of McKinley’s books which I think is being ignored in this piece. So many (maybe all?) of her protagonists are torn between 2 worlds (off the top of my head, Aerin, Harry, Sunshine, Con, Lissar, Beauty, even Jake). But what I love about her characters is that they aren’t necessarily…
I also wonder why this article didn’t reference at all McKinley’s later retelling of Beauty: Rose Daughter. This seems like a glaring oversight to me. Especially because in that book all 3 of the sisters (Beauty, Lionheart, and Jeweltongue) have “improper princess” character arcs.
This reads to me like a not-quite-effective outtake from an MA thesis (one which sounds super interesting!). There is so much thrown in here that isn’t expanded on. For example, what does this mean: “The tension of the Improper Princess book is that the protagonist needs to choose between paid and unpaid labor, as…
You will meet people! In the meantime, enjoy your introverted time with kitties!
It also depends on how it looks in action! How does it make you feel when you walk in it? Sometimes that’s the real test.
I love below-the-knee skirts! I hear what you are saying about the length though, and I think taking it up maybe 2 inches would make it feel better. Maybe talk with a tailor and see what they think?
I haven’t been called to the bar, but my study advice would be:
I struggle with this too. Some weeks are okay, and others are terrible. Two weeks ago I had my worst bout yet—almost no sleep in a night. Unfortunately I don’t have any good advice—some things work sometimes (like thinking of all the red things I can find in a grocery store—my version of counting sheep) and other…
I would hope not! I’ve never met her either. But she probably has lawyers and accountants that will make her tax outlay as small as possible. Who wouldn’t (and I don’t necessarily blame her)? But that’s the system we live in. Who is going to voluntarily pay more taxes? It’s just that it affects many more of us in a…
“All the available information on “astro gliding” points to it not as a brain expansion technique but rather as a butt tactic, so that one was not possible to perform across dimensions and timescapes.”
Yes, kinda? I mean, probably partly. I know this isn’t what you mean, but she has absolutely benefitted from a system which routinely does these things. And likely worked with companies which routinely do these things. Is Tidal unionized?
I am really struggling to understand what he’s saying here:
Seriously, Emilia Clarke? Oh wow. Listen, I love GOT, but that series went down the toilet after the first couple of seasons, and she’s never been that compelling as an actress. In fact, and this will be unpopular, I don’t find most of the actors nominated all that convincing (except Lena Heady, Nik Coster-Waldau,…
Say her name. In the headline (not you necessarily Lauren, but your editors). Thank you for outlining her many contributions in the body copy, but say.her.name.in.the.headline.
