Agreed. There’s lots of sports car dick-measuring stereotypes and so on... and I get it, I like being able to say what I drive and have it be a topic of conversation rather than a point A-to-B kind of thing.

Great post. I have a 987 cayman, best car I’ve ever owned. I’m super pumped about the C8 and I’m already scheming ways to try to afford one, but that said I don’t think for a second that it will out handle a modern Porsche and I’d consider the two on equal footing really - a few tradeoffs in either direction.

I currently am driving a rental Chevy Equinox and it’s so similar to the Peugeot 3008 I drove in Ireland last September that I don’t expect to see GM letting Peugeot sell what will be a direct competitor to their cars in their own dealerships. FCA makes a lot more sense but the 500X is sort of similar as well, though…

Take a little off for the bad AC and it’s a nice price and very clean looking otherwise. Just go into this knowing you could’ve bought a $35k car by the time maintenance is factored in over the next two years or so... just part of the Lotus experience, not a dig at this specific car.
