This kind of reminds me of that scene in Batman Forever where Nygma is inspired to become the Riddler...by the Riddler fortune-telling machine in his pad. So, does the Riddler already exist in this universe...and if he does, why would a novelty item even be made about a criminal...or is this some kind of weird homage

Terrific article. I really enjoy this movie. It’s no masterpiece in the rom-com genre, but it makes for a nice ‘comfort food’ watch.

I’m willing to concede that it has its issues (namely a stupid final twist), but I really like Killers. Some good lines, surprisingly hard-edged violence and a pretty good music score.

My man!

Three syllables, yes...

...and that’s how good she is. It’s the perfect cover.

No question, Year One is one of the most miserable, unfunny things (calling it a movie is far too dignifying) I’ve ever sat through.

Underrated movie, with fantastic turns from Reilly and Willem Dafoe.

...and I can’t stan him!

While I liked parts of this (nothing but good things for Cindy Erivo), the 2:20 running time was a joke.

And just when I was starting to feel like Veronica Cartwright after meeting Donald Sutherland in the park.

As an adaptation of the TV series, it’s an insult, but as a Will Ferrell movie, it is hilarious.

That was the moment when the film went from ‘brilliant social commentary’ to ‘bad South Park episode’. Talk about dropping the ball.

Absolutely. Anyone who disagrees is not your friend.

And fucking hell, how sad was his death after five minutes of screentime?

Objection: Kat Dennings’ material in this movie is fucking heinous. Like, you feel bad watching her struggle through this. (So bad were her jokes, it’s part of the reason I latched onto “2 Broke Girls”, where the material was - comparatively, at least - funnier.)

There was also one scene where I could swear that Zola was dressed like Toht.

My word, what occurrences are transpiring on this side of the card?

Pretty much every review I’ve read of The Happytime Murders said that Meet the Feebles did the ‘puppets are raunchy lol’ schtick better. I saw Feebles for the first time a few weeks ago and let me just say this: it is an immaculate short film. It’s a so-so full-length feature, but an immaculate short film.
