Oh, well ok then. In that case, you are a good writer.

The use of the word “good” in this headline is perplexing. Draper, you think that doing something automatically makes you good at it?
Yes, I know, you already told me about your 8:30 miles. Fantastic work, man. I’m sure everyone at work is impressed when you finish second in your age group.
They gave Barrett her room number. I agree that everybody deserves representation, even if they fucked up, but don’t act surprised that people are angry at this strategy. Yes, Marriott is entitled to the best possible defense, but they created this situation for themselves, so fuck them.
Eh we just have different definitions, because I’ve actually gone running before.
Unfortunately, that “average” includes actual competitive (many of them professional) athletes running up to 150 miles a week. Someone who runs 40 miles a week for an extended period of time is not going to run 4:30 for a marathon. People who “run” that slow are largely people who run once or twice a week for a few…
“In the United States, the average marathon finishing time in 2014 for men in U.S. marathons was 4:19:27 (9:54/mile pace), according to Running USA. The median finishing time for women was 4:44:19 (10:51/mile pace).”
There literally are millions of people who don’t run regularly that finish marathons. You are just...misinformed on that point. Sorry.
Haha millions of casual “runners” finish a marathon every year.
You’re calling high school girls who race walk against other high school girls “elite athletes,” and as long as we’re on the same page about how stupid that is, I think we’re done here.
Well, there are high school girls who walk 7:30 miles competitively, so you certainly aren’t “competing” with anybody at 8:30 pace. It sounds like shuffleboard might be more appropriate for your level of fitness.
You should call it walking. Jesus, how many times do I have to explain it?
The speed at which both feet are simultaneously off the ground. Probably somewhere around 8 minutes, depending on the person. Finishing a marathon doesn’t make you a runner any more than nuking a bowl of soup makes you a chef.
Still closer to walking than running.
Follow-up: who at Deadspin is so lacking in self-confidence that they felt obligated to publish multiple posts tearing SB Nation down further?
“past”?
Barry have you run a marathon? If so, what’s your best time?
One doesn’t “rip off” 9-minute miles. Nine minutes for a mile is closer to walking than running.
What was the point of this post, other than dragging down a competitor?
