Wood is antimicrobial! Just wet it, let it dry, and once a month oil it with a food-safe oil.

Wood is actually a more sterile choice than plastic. While wood absorbs the bacteria in to its pores and then dries, the bacteria is killed. Also, wood naturally has antimicrobial properties. Plastic cutting boards stay wet longer and so allow bacteria to thrive on their surface longer. However, it is important to

The first sentence says that the population of people that identify as neither male or female will now be legally recognized as such. This is probably very different from the transgender issue in the US.

You read the first sentence wrong.

After reading the fact sheet PDF, it sort of looks like someone really misunderstood the section on the effects bullying has on targets. Very similar wording.

Heather's really talented. She did this other project using a shim and a couple lights that was beautiful. This was a part of our found footage project and she spent something like 16 hours (or more) transcoding and editing.

My classmate made this and screened it in class last spring!

Yeah, thought this story was interesting, when I read it a week ago on Buzzfeed. Great reporting skills.

I was adopted as an adult. It can sometimes be for financial reasons (like school loans) or insurance or just emotional reasons when you've been raised by someone who was not your legal parent. It changes your birth certificate.

These stories were great! So how come you were able to put together a funny/fun to read article this week, and last week you insisted that people suffering from severe mental illness are of the same entertainment value? Seriously, don't you understand that distinction?

I definitely got the internalized message implication. Honestly, from the title that's why I assumed the governor wanted the ads down, but from his actions it seems that may not actually be the case.

Humor is absolutely a coping mechanism and it's a great tool in tough situations. No, you shouldn't be laughing at your patients and if you can't distinguish laughing with them or at them, you probably should find another job. But this is besides the point. The situation described in the article is being held up as

Good one!

Are you laughing with them or at them? If it's the latter, you're in the wrong occupation

You're right, sometimes you have to laugh, but not when you're completely removed from a situation and the joke is "he's crazy." A great example are rape jokes. Rape jokes that work aren't the ones where the punchline is "then the person was raped."

Haha, I know what schadenfreude is, but I don't feel better when someone I don't know is suffering because of a mental illness. And you don't have to like someone who's insane. This is how I feel: it is totally fine to use humor to make a horrible experience less traumatic. But those stories should not be posted on a

Yeah, I guess he could have been high, that's true. But I'm not a pearl-clencher, I just don't think this story is funny. Because someone who is hallucinating and tries to hurt someone isn't funny. And if you think it is, chances are there's something wrong with you.

I don't feel that I'm above it all, but the point I'm trying to make is something I feel is valid: laughing at a story where someone suffering from hallucinations and then tries to assault the wait staff isn't funny, it's a very sad situation. I grew up in a town where homeless advocacy in an era where most
