I wasn't even planning on entering this contest but I was trying to post some small items for sale on Craigslist. Then I saw this article and it inspired me to try and build an impromptu light box that actually ended up working out pretty well.

Psssh remember... they're in my pocket. Granted my ignition cylinder is so worn out I don't really need that key anymore, so I could technically downsize to one, but for some reason it unnerves people when I drive my truck without using the keys.

I raise my glass to you good sir! What's so funny? I...I'll tell you in a minute. First, lets drink, me from my glass and you from yours.

I would have to say anyone who uses car parts as a part of their home or office decor is almost always a Gearhead. To which I will submit my humble throttle body turned pencil holder on my desk at work.

Yep

The Navy.

Nope, this is the SPAWARS building.

Yup, been there done that too. The worst was at Newport News shipbuilding, although the Norfolk Navy Yard (in Portsmouth) was a close second.

They describe it as being inactivated, and is scheduled to be decomissioned in a couple months.

Fun fact: They usually have around this many ships in port this time of year so more sailors are home for the holidays. Also worth noting when this many ships are in, traffic going to and from the base absolutely sucks until a good number of them deploy again. Oh BTW I work on the base and I can even see my office

It was also inactivated on December 1st so not really that suprising to see her here.

For me that would mean something from the early 50s.... so Hell yeah! My (actually somewhat obtainable) dream car is a Chevy "Advance Design" Truck (47-55). And I would absolutely drive one of those every single day. For what it's worth mechanically speaking they are really not that much different from my 88 S10 that

I had no idea the Anal Probe was for sale, but I recgonized it in about 2 seconds.

And put this new 4.3L engine in it!

I like it. Call me weird or whatever you want but I like it... The interior I'm not crazy about but I could probably live with it.

I was thinking it was either some sort of pump, or possibly a steam engine.

I'm the same way. I grew up in a family where the newest car we ever owned was still like 8 years old. Even now my Mother drives an 01 and my father drives a 97. My personal preferences in cars lean towards older more "interesting" vehicles. I think the main reason that I like older vehicles is because they are just

Umm... what exactly do you think suicide doors are?

I have one of these and I absolutely love it. It flat out lasts forever between charges and the light is nice and bright and directional (so you don't blind yourself while using it). I would highly reccomend getting one of these for anyone you know who works on cars and doesn't already have one.

That was actually a very interesting read, thanks for the links.
