That “make an appointment” thing has actually worked out well for me. The salesperson has set aside time for me and has a couple of versions of the car I spoke to them over the phone about ready to go.  Nothing fancy either, I was working a couple hours away and my wife’s Saturn was on it’s last legs and she really,

Everyone knows the real answer...

Now playing

How about the 10' 6" bridge that also narrows as you approach with large and sharp curbs?

Someone in planning was lied to about how big 8" actually is.

To be fair, in HGTV world they need open floor plans because of all the parties they throw because everyone loves to entertain so damn much.

Opening a floorplan can solve a problem if the original floorplan is bad. Like if the kitchen was given one window and 10 square feet when the house was built. So I have nothing against people who open up spaces out of necessity, to make unworkable spaces workable.

Ex-Enterprise employee here.

I’ve had a few rentals with various warning lights aglow with apparently no concern from the rental lot minders-low tire pressure warnings, maintenance due/oil change due minders, that sort of thing. This summer, I had a rental from Enterprise that, upon collecting it, had a “oil change due” notice in the center

Stfu. If their money is green they can be a vegan man bunned trans mixed raced polygamist in an open marriage with several domestic animals.

IMHO as someone with approximately 3,000 rental days over the years across primarily Avis, Hertz and Enterprise, Avis went from great to ass sucking bad about 7-8 years ago.

Here is what happens.

Great. Just yesterday I made a Best Offer on eBay that was just around 60% the asking price. Now I feel dirty. Thanks.

In 2015 we bought a 2015 Sonic with 8k miles at a *steep* discount from one of the biggest used car dealers in my area. Like, loaded with every option, retailed for $19k and we got it for under $13k. Paperwork said it had been used as a rental car.

Wish I could star this more. When I was 20 something, a rental was an excuse to play. But I didn’t get many business trips because I was a junior dude. I travel more now now that I am a more senior guy. I drive a rental like I do my private car. Maybe a bit slower since I am unfamiliar with the car and where I am

That would bother me less. Someone depending on their car to make a living is going to take care of it, and for sure I have never had an Uber driver who was any sort of hoon.

With regard to the advisability of purchasing a former rental car. P.J. O’Rourke perhaps said it best:

I think Hertz sales let’s you rent before you buy. So you get a 3 day test drive of the actual car you are considering and it’s free if you do end up buying

Boomer here, I don’t care what powers it, if it looks like this, I’m in!!

“Heres the NEW 2026 Ford F-150, starting at just $19,999!”
