Do you really expect a statement from Mclaren where they say the engine is the same? :) They will try to pinpoint every possible difference!
I would love to see if it is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BLOCK and not just a reinforced one with a different housing for the electric motor.
Do you really think they use a completely different engine with the same bore and stroke?
Ferrari and Lamborghini have different engines and chassis for each models.
McLaren: one carbon tube + one engine = endless models.
It is a no cost option.

The Ghibli looks good, much more imaginative than the Biturbo was. But it looks good because it looks pretty much like a Quattroporte. I have to be really careful not to use a picture of a Quattroporte in these Ghibli posts.
