Really wondering what “NVIDIA Custom Tegra processor” means, especially since they use the same wording for both the old and new models. An OLED screen is nice, but not really worth dropping another $350 on if there is not a performance bump, too.

Sign me up. This looks fantastic. I hope this does well, so we get some of the others (especially V) with this treatment.

Strange. I have a PS4 and a PS4 Pro, and neither have any problems with my network. The only device that does is the PS5, and only at 5 GHz (with both 802.11n and 802.11ac).

This looks to be really close to the indigo Game Boy Advance. I wonder why they just didn’t call it that?

No mention in Sony’s blog post about fixing network issues is a bit disappointing. My PS5 can’t keep a connection to 5 GHz Wifi, and when it drops my only recourse is to restart my PS5 to get the connection to work again. I was hoping to see this fixed, so hopefully it is just something they didn’t want to mention.

I don’t have it installed currently, but I played in July/August 2019, and I don’t think there’s been an update in at least that long. I don’t know how much of a factor it is, but I played on an i7 9700k, RTX 2080 (not a super), 16 GB RAM.

Dragon Quest XI does it, too. Seems like it’s becoming a JRPG trope at this point.

You’re not alone. I played on PC in 2019, and didn’t have any problems at all save a single crash somewhere around the 2-3 hour mark.

I’m old enough to remember having played Race Drivin’ in the arcade, and if I’m remembering correctly it looks like the SA-1 version of the game performs better than the arcade version. Pretty awesome!

In all fairness, it probably should look better than that. Scenes like this would have been pre-rendered in the PSX era.

Overall good article with great advice on playing open world games without burning out, but I think the opening is kind of weak. Listing completion percentages as evidence of the games being too long doesn’t mean much if you’re not comparing it to other, shorter games. I think in general most players don’t roll

Had an Atari XE (a hybrid game console/personal computer; think Commadore 64, but way worse), because my parents thought it was a better investment than an NES. After not being able to find games for it and that it was also a poor computer, my parents dropped the money on an NES. We never touched the XE again. I think

This. I’m hoping they can improve it for release, ir even in a patch, because it was very distracting to have the frame rate dip so low.

I can see why the collectors edition exists, but why don’t they just offer this through Nintendo Switch Online? Seems like it would make more sense to make the subscription service more appealing, but what do I know...

That was my reaction, too. This model looks like he’s barely out of high school.

Remember when Final Fantasy VII Remake and Animal Crossing: New Horizons both came out five years ago back in March?

The store you linked to seems to rely on Apple’s Enterprise Development Program, which is not supposed to be used outside a single organization, has limits on the total number of installs, and holds the risk that Apple will terminate your account if you’re found distributing outside of your organization. This isn’t a

That and the fact that Marvel agreed to the terms. I see a lot of hate directed at Sony, and justifiably so, but Marvel never needed to sign that deal. Then again, I wonder if video game exclusivity was a condition of getting Spidey in to the MCU...

Not sure if it fits the criteria of an accessory, but I’d say SSDs, or flash storage in general, have made a huge difference to my gaming experience. Game loading times are so much quicker, which leads to more time playing. I’m really looking forward to the performance gains next gen SSDs are able to deliver, both on

California has a *lot* of desert, especially in the south. It would be about 6-8 hours to drive, so well within the distance covered in Zero Dawn. I’d bet on Forbidden West’s map to be bigger, too, so no problem with having desert, climate change or not.
