His monster work in Dragon Quest is particularly noteworthy, IMO. He drew some wacky stuff for Dragonball and its spinoffs, but to me it was Dragon Quest’s monsters where you could see his creativity soar.

The thing is, Game Pass is dead without Xbox. There is no incentive for another hardware platform to allow it. I know there are political forces at play that may open the markets up a bit, but Microsoft can’t count on that. They need to have a physical presence in the living room for Game Pass to work. Having their…
The Outer Worlds wasn’t groundbreaking, but for all the criticism it received, it was fun to play. I fully expect Avowed to be the same, and I’ll take any excuse to return to Eora.
That this is some kind of revelation to S-E management says a lot about how separated from reality they’ve been. Focusing on fewer games and making them good sounds like a great strategy, but still doesn’t really solve any of the core problems S-E seems to have looking at them from the outside.
I would love for Microsoft to come around and sue Take-Two and Rockstar for the use of the “R” logo as it infringes their own Rare logo, just out of principle. They could even come up with a licensing agreement with Remedy to use its “R” logo.
Daggerfall was my first TES game. I spent way too much time just roaming Tamriel during my university days instead of doing homework, but I think it was a good trade off. No BGS game has quite captured the same atmosphere as Daggerfall, and it’s still their best dungeon crawler. Expect a learning curve, but definitely…
This story is one big nothingburger. Yes, Bethesda made some design decisions that a good number of people have an issue with, but there are a good number of us (myself included) who genuinely enjoy Starfield. I personally don’t mind the repeated content very much, and the serenity of wandering an empty planet or moon…
It might be. I’m not arguing that Starfield’s should win, I just think it’s good enough to merit a place on the list, especially when you consider that Tears of the Kingdom’s soundtrack is on the list, which wasn’t particularly memorable (which I know is subjective).
That’s mostly fair, but Starfield has an excellent soundtrack that, if nothing else, I think should have earned it a nomination for that.
So, Microsoft, you now have one job: bring back Starcraft.
Good. The “race to the bottom” of mobile games 10+ years ago destroyed the market for engaging games that didn’t work like slot machines. I’m not necessarily interested in RE on my iPhone, but there may be other games coming that I am. More of this, please.
I think it’s important to highlight the negative reviews, especially the ones that give specific reasons instead of just “expected more from Bethesda in 2023" or the like. I also think it’s important to point out (and I think it’s a bit disingenuous that it wasn’t in the article) that despite the number of negative…
I think they’re being 100% truthful. Todd Howard is quoted above, saying “make it an experience where we know how fast they’re seeing things”, which, to me, indicates that a fast-moving vehicle had the potential to break how the game could render the world if stuff was going in and out if memory too quickly. It makes…
Yeah. Skyrim’s buff is called “Lover’s Comfort”. Your spouse just needs to be in the same building/general area you’re in. The 15% XP buff is the same.
Yeah, some of the reviews feel really imbalanced. I get that outlets have different people reviewing games, but the score reflects the site’s score, not just the reviewer’s overall impression. I think it’s fair to compare Starfield to a game like Cyberpunk 2077, because they’re both supposed to be big, open-world RPGs…
Not just that, but some of us have grown children and more time to play games now than we did 10 years ago.
To each their own, but Bethesda’s games have always been this way, even when the industry wasn’t trying to copy their homework. I wouldn’t call it so much “overbloating” in Bethesda’s case because that’s what they do. Sometimes having so much to do in a game just means putting away the need to do it all and just enjoy…
I wonder if the Series S could do 4-way split screen, and it’s just that 8-way is what is too much. Wouldn’t that be enough? I mean, how much will 8-way split screen actually get used?
Absolutely not. I have a PS5, Switch, and PC. If there were games I could only play on Xbox I’d own one of those, too, but my PC has me covered.
What monopoly? There is no monopoly here. There is a large company getting bought by a huge company, but definitely no monopoly. Let’s be real here. The biggest problem with this deal, in my opinion, is the consolidation of gaming franchises to a smaller number of companies and just the general allowance of companies…
