That would be weird because chances are not one of the people in that room is a muslim. But 99% of those guys probably pray to Jesus over every meal, so to force them not to pray because left-wing atheists (like me) who don’t have anything to do with that school take offense, is ridiculous and overreaching and a weird

You realize how complicated all of what you just outlined is? And how it encourages everyone to take offense at everything? I don’t believe in god, but I don’t give a shit if somebody wants to pray. And even if I was offended to the damn core, I’d recognize that I’m prob in the minority, and I’d stare at my shoelaces

But honestly, who gives a shit? You have to contort yourselves in some really ugly cultural/philosophical positions to take offense at a team prayer at the fucking Army academy.

JESUS FUCKING CHRIST,

not parents of kids in poor inner-city neighborhoods. not while football is still the ticket out.

Brady and Peyton don’t run, so it’s much easier to arm tackle them.

the answer is to remove helmets and shoulder pads. i played football, and the big difference between tackle football with your buddies in a park and wearing pads is that pads encourage shoulder tackling, which will always, always, always, lead to head-to-head hits. no pads equals arm tackling like you typically see in

good lord, that would make the NFL completely unwatchable. I’m already sick of the replays and the over analysis and the refs reading entire paragraphs of the rule book to the fans when they explain a penalty.

that’s 100% correct.

I feel like something important is lost when we stop aspiring to look the best we can, especially in public in a professional setting. Presenting yourself in the most polished, refined manner possible is a wonderful thing, it should be encouraged, both in dress and in manner.

What makes you think Kap or the Seahawks have any idea why they’re protesting the anthem?

The protesting is fine, the manner they’re doing it is fine, it’s all fine. But it’s pointless, it’s literally the least amount of protest they could be doing, and I still don’t really see the connection between police brutality and the national anthem. But more power to ‘em, I guess.

Ya, maybe, but Christ was it annoying.

Gotcha. That makes a lot more sense then.

Gotta find that outrage where you can.

Really? Why would you want more casual attire to be the norm? It’s nice when people actually give a shit and put their best look forward, isn’t it? Or am I that old? (Not even 40).

This isn’t about femininity, but I understand you must drum up outrage wherever you can find it.

Also, I’m not entirely sure that I get the connection between the Star Spangled Banner and police brutality. That song represents lots of things, none of which involve law enforcement.

How exactly is Rapinoe’s protest not also grandstanding?

I live in SF and this morning in my local coffeehouse I spotted a balding man in glasses wearing a black turtleneck tucked into dark blue jeans with white tennis shoes. I believe he was dressed that way to attend the Apple News fawning as cosplay Steve Jobs.
