They have one. It’s called the NCAA.

Maybe Sean Mannion is just really good. That kinda shit happens. Turns out a guy you’ve got stashed on the bench is a better QB than a legit first-rounder.

Lifelong LA/ST Louis/LA Rams fan here. Agree with you in principle, but I keep trying to imagine how I’d feel if they’d stayed pat with their picks and taken Paxton Lynch or Dak Prescott or another QB — who sounds like they were named after a Star Wars character — in a later round, and committed to Keenum for 2017. Ever been to Baja? Nothing beats driving around some rocky beach trails in the middle of nowhere in a jacked-up 4x4 only to come around the corner and see some local dude in a rusted Chevy Corsica calmly crawling gnarlier sections than you.

Those are good questions though. Just cause they came from Whitlock doesn’t make them bad.

your logic ultimately ends with a bunch of people speaking only about things that they’ve experienced in their own house.

“Penultimate” means the sentence BEFORE the last sentence, btw.

Those conversations are happening independently of Colin.

using terms like “whitesplaining” and phrases like “your white is showing” isn’t helping anything either.

That’s not at all this guy’s point. It’s not about “tone.” It’s about Colin sounding like a beauty pageant contestant. “I want justice and equality for all.” Well, ok dude.

What exactly would you say Colin is protesting?

The things that are wrong with that statement are wrong independent of you being a historian.

Agreed 100%. But the problem is those clamoring for safe spaces often block discussions of controversial topics by claiming that only certain people are capable of discussing certain topics.

Yeah, maybe. I don’t know much about U of Chicago, other than I hated reading books from U of Chicago faculty members when I was in grad school because they were extraordinarily difficult to understand, and were by far the most wildly experimental in terms of relying onpost-modern critical concepts.

i think that’s what the u of chicago is doing. they’re basically saying “we’re not even gonna deal with this insane argument — just teach and learn well everyone”

I think you honestly confuse disagreement with shutting down an argument. That seems to be the root of the problem that U of Chicago is trying to address.

This is a very well-reasoned explanation. BUT, how many people have legitimate PTSD to the point of mere discussion having about a difficult subject poses a significant psychological threat?

Unfortunately I think you’re confusing my disagreeing with you with shutting down debate.
